First Time Using Low-dose Pregnenolone (1-3mg), Pheromone Like Effects?

So for the first time in my life I tried a low dose of pregnenolone. For those who don't know, I've started supplementing since 2016 (well actually longer then that, but 2016 was when I got more serious about them and started finding out good brands and this forum). During the years I've tried different things and I had 2 bad experiences in these years. The last one was a couple of months ago, and I felt it was perhaps a good thing because it made me more cautious. I never felt I was overdoing them and I felt I was doing it responsibly but it just happened I guess.

I'll start of with things I definitely noticed, then later on I will write some assumptions which may or may not be responsible (basically things that happened between the ears haha):

Well on the main point: what I did was write down my experience with using pregnenolone for the first time, so that I could remember what the effects were like and how I felt at that moment. I wrote everything down on sundaynight/morning (and I took the dose on Saturday, around 18:00-19:00). Can't recall exactly how late I took it, but I do know I set my alarm till 21:30. I sometimes take a siesta (a very late one lol) before I go clubbing on saturdays, I just feel refreshed when I do that. Sometimes I wake up fine, feeling very refreshed and sometimes not so, feeling tired as if I needed more sleep. Anyhow, this saturday was very different from the others, as I tried something different.

So for the first time in my life I tried a low dose pregnenolone. A full microscoop says 8-10mg on the package, and I used half a microscoop in a 50ml cup. I drank approximately half or a bit less of what was in it, so I assume I got anywhere between 1-3mg of pregnenolone.

At first I thought it was a low-dose but as of now my mindset tells me I just cannot be "too cautious" because I didn't want to experience anything bad. However, believe it or not, something really did happen approximately 30 minutes after I took it in (it was after having the evening meal, chicken and white rice mainly).

Few symptoms I noticed (don't know whether it's good or bad):
I felt I got a bit of an anesthetic effect, my muscle tightness was starting to relieve and I started passing out "gass" lol. Everything was becoming more relaxed. No amount of magnesium/dieting/supplements have ever done it to that degree. So at first, I thought something bad was going to happen but at some point I seriously felt like I was becoming a bit "high", well not high but some sort of "uplifting" effect. So that's when I started to lay down, because my eye-lid wasn't really moving but I felt like it was trying to shutdown, as if my body forced me to sleep. I also felt a little bit numb/relaxed, also "down below" if u get what I'm saying. Nothing too drastic though.

After trying this stuff out, somehow I also felt very calm (somewhat sedated) in a way that I haven't really experienced. It also felt funny at the same time.

I couldn't really sleep for another 30 minutes because and then I was browsing my phone until I really noticed sleep was kicking in, so I put my phone aside and I was gone very quickly. 2 hours later and I woke up very refreshed, I was like dayumn "I must be making this up", since it's just 1-3mg of preg you took in (especially when you compare it to other people who take/took much higher doses). I just never took hormones and I was actually scared of trying it out but at this point I was willing to try it after reading so much about it. The one thing I just don't want whatsoever, is estrogen symptoms. In the past I did lower my estrogen a bit too much and that wasn't funny either (joint pains etc.). I don't have joint pains as of lately, but it may kick in someday if I lower estrogen too much again. Also, my scalp is dry/flaky so that's what I am also trying to figure out (as in what causes this).

When I woke up, I felt fine and refreshed. One thing I noticed was my muscles were very relaxed, no amount of magnesium has ever done that to me (and I did use some big doses in the past) and I haven't used magnesium since the bad experience. I'm not saying it was the magnesium, because if u read my other posts, you'll see that I think something else is the culprit. I am simply reintroducing everything once at a time, at more appropriate dosages to see if I can find a culprit and perhaps notice when I need to cut something out. Magnesium did relieve my cramps when I started it 2 years ago, so it has really good effects.

My back was relaxed and I felt my nerves weren't overloaded/sensitive as much. I had a very peaceful feeling for the rest of the night (and even felt no agitation or oversensitiveness in the muscles/nerves during that night and the day after).

I do fasts on thursdays and sundays (approximately 12-16 hours), nothing crazy. One thing I feel from fasting is my nose is more sensitive to scents (in a good way), I pick subtle scents in the air. Also, I sometimes experience these feelings which I had when I was younger (teenager like) and I really like it. Everything seems much more interesting and exciting.

Is it possible that pregnenolone may boost the health-effects of fasting, altough this can be taken with a grain of salt and it's purely an assumption? I'll leave that up to the experts.

The above is something I just wanted to mention in this thread, so feel free to ask me anything on my experiences regarding fasting.

So to sum things up:

1) This is possibly the weirdest thread I ever created but I did it anyways XD

2) So is it also possible that pregnenolone may have pheromone like effects (not implying it happened that night because it was a very low dose, but I am curious whether it may have such effects in general)?

3) Also, regarding the symptoms I noticed/described, would any of them fall under the category of estrogen raising (because I try to avoid raising estrogen at all costs), again not implying that it did happen because most of what I described seemed to be positive symptoms/effects?

In a small enough dose, pregnenolone does have pro androgen capabilities, however it's hard to say whether or not this is responsible for your experience. In high doses, pregnenolone is more or less like taking a high dose of progesterone, and could actually oppose androgen. So there's a fine line, but I find it hard to believe 3mgs, of oral pregnenolone, did much of anything. Usually oral pregnenolone is best effective between 20-50mgs. Topical could be effective at 3mgs. Either way I doubt it raised your estrogen, pregnenolone is an aromatase inhibitor.

Pregnenolone can definitely act as pheromone and make you more attractive. 3 mg is very low dose thou, try 50 mg next time and see how you feel.

Getting erection around girls is very healthy sign and it releases more hormones in the air that attract females, its basic animal biology. Female animals in the wild can sense when male is ready to mate, and NoFap does that. If you bust a nut everyday to porn, i bet my **** off that females can sense that this guy is empty and done, why bother with him. But if you do NoFap and no porn, your chances are much higher to get laid.

Pregnenolone is proven estrogen blocker so it lowers estrogen.

Thanks for the response. So I assume that the libido effect was an pro-androgen effect then? Regarding the club experience, it may aswell be something between my ears but what happened at home such as not being able to keep my eyes open and the drowsiness/sleepy effect was definitely from the preg I believe. I believe that pregnenolone was responsible because the sleepiness was very striking/noticable (soon after taking it in). The muscles that became less compressed/feeling more relaxed was also very noticable. Alot of the other things are basically mostly an assumption.

Holy smokes, that would clarify alot of things indeed. I do feel more productive but at some point, the feeling becomes very strong and it's hard to neglect at times. When I neglect it, I can't really focus until I get some dreams which would then release some of the feeling. I just feel a bit too stimulated when you walk around for a long time without doing a "manual release" and that's what makes it a bit difficult. Getting a release through dreams feel very different and not as empty.

I also didn't know about the thing you mentioned, the 'releasing more hormones in the air' part. It does make sense, do you perhaps have articles or any recommendations regarding these stuff? I never paid attention to these things until recently and it's very interesting to read about it.

This is interesting! Thanks for sharing. DHEA when the metabolism is not optimal can definitely convert to estrogen, but pregnenlone in smaller doses is probably safe. Have you tried topical?

Hey, thanks for tuning in. I haven't tried DHEA yet, I was thinking about getting Pansterone for topical use (dosed at 2.5mg of DHEA and 2.5 Pregnenolone, which is half the recommended dose I think?), but I guess I should hold off if I read about getting converted to estrogen. Would it even happen at 2.5mgs? Otherwise I'd just use Stressnon (Pregnenolone only) and get something like Androsterone.

Btw, @Constatine has helped me alot by giving simple tips in general aswell as more indepth info, so I do have to give him credits for it.

You can try it and see how it makes you feel. I was stupid to bath my balls with it though. I would advise to experiment orally or topically but nothing close to the testicles. Yesterday I took a small dose of oral pregnenlone at night and I was cheerful. I woke up today just as usual but I did my boring computer runs at work without being frustrated. I don't know what's happening.

Thanks for sharing too, good that you warned against putting it on the scrotum as I have tried different things (K2 was one thing I did for a long time without issues) but hormones might be a bad idea. Is there any scientific study that would warn against using DHEA? Almost everything I read here says that DHEA at low dosages shouldn't come with issues but when I read with how low people dosed and still experienced side-effects, I am still not sure why I would try it? What is the benefit that DHEA can give that pregnenolone can't?

Or better yet, forgetting all the things I read, why would one use DHEA in the first place (my knowledge on hormones is pretty mediocre, I have to mention)?

I just don't wanna mess with hormones alot, since I am 26 and most people tell me not to look at them until a later age. But I tried almost every vitamin/mineral and while I did experience good things, I believe that nowadays food is a bit too compromised to get things from food alone. I was hoping/thinking that low dose of certain hormones, such as pregnenolone, might make up for the bodies that are unable to make an adequate amount of hormones. I might be completely wrong though but it was just a guess. I can't ignore that I got a good initial reaction from using pregnenolone, which no other vitamin/mineral has done so far, especially regarding the muscle relaxing (feeling less compressed/agitation in the muscle). Maybe I am camping with a certain deficiency in a vitamin/mineral and that's why I am somewhat Hypothyroid also. I think (if you watch my other thread) that I have some sort of iron deficiency, but labworks should hopefully give me a better understanding of what's going on. I hope to post them this week as the results didn't come back yet.

Again if the metabolism is good, DHEA in low doses can benefit majority of people. But because it has a tendency to convert to estrogen, Peat doesn't recommend it much. He also doesn't endorse pregnenlone available in the market because he feels it's contaminated with estrogen. I think progesterone is probably the most recommended hormone when he advises people. But that also can cause anti-androgen effects on a man if used in high doses. Hormones can be a tricky business.

DHEA, when it doesn't go bad, can actually raise DHT. Pregnenlone is the precursor of all hormones. Some people can't get much DHEA from pregnenlone due to insufficient ability of certain enzymes in the general population due to many reasons. Pregnenlone can however easily be converted to progesterone. You are still young. Maybe vitamin D3 and K2 alone are enough for you. D3 can help with hormone production as it's very similar to thyroid. And k2 can increase testosterone.

Having said that, if you can tolerate pregnenlone and feel good, it won't hurt to keep playing with it. In fact, tonight I am planning to apply a small dose of Stressnon on my wrists.

Maybe because of the fact that most preg today is contaminated with estrogen. That would explain the diminished social status and mood issues

IIRC, magnesium oil spray increases DHEA synthesis in the skin.

Thanks for the more indepth info, I'll use D3 aswell, because I think my D3 levels dropped after not taking it for 2-3 months (same goes for K2). I am very curious what bloodworks will bring to the table this week.

Thanks! I actually went online to search things up and I was surprised I found many articles supporting this. I used topical magnesium after training and taking a shower. Will definitely incorporate that again.

That's kind of odd. What makes it having a status-lowering/diminishing effect (do u mean self-image when u say that)? And why would people walk over you, is that because it converts to estrogen after all perhaps? Seems kinda scary then :/

Yeah, I was actually wondering this aswell. That would really hold me back if it turns out to be true. I assume Health Natura and Haiduts (Idealabs) have good source Pregnenolone without containing estrogen? Also, I heard/read that some foods also contain small amounts of Pregnenolone but can't recall what foods exactly. Do you perhaps know which ones since I tried finding the thread but unfortunately wasn't able to source it.
