I personally feel best when consuming enough milk (1-2 L of 1% milk a day), some OJ and around 2-3 L of water on top of that. Definitely much more water than that and I feel cold and urinate too frequently. I do consume a ton of salt though with all of my food, heavily salting everything I eat. I workout pretty frequently and play sports so my water intake is crucial for my performance, if I drop too much water my performance also drops.
