Eugenol
Cloves Effect on Parkinson’s Disease – Animal Study
Eugenol
helped reduce the loss of Dopamine, DOPAC, and HVA that was caused by Parkinson's Disease (6-OHDA).
Eugenol protected the dopamine-using neurons in the brain by helping to stop the oxidation of lipids in the cell membranes which produce more free radicals. This in turn allows enzymes (Catalase & GPx) that break down free radicals and convert Hydrogen Peroxide back into Water to be more effective.

Neuroprotective effects of eugenol against aluminum induced toxicity in the rat brain
Neuroprotective effects of eugenol against aluminum induced toxicity in the rat brain
Eugenol holds potential as a neuroprotective agent through its hydrophobic, antioxidant, and anti-apoptotic properties, as well as its neurotrophic ability against Al-induced brain toxicity in rats.

Thanks
What would be the effective dose to get all the benefits?

My personal experience is with clove oil - which is 80-90% eugenol.
I use 1 to 2 drops on some baking soda to brush my teeth; or 1 to 2 drops in a cup of water as a rinse.
It is very powerful - careful if you have sensitive skin.
If I was going to eat it I would use 1 drop on some sugar or honey.
You can get a smaller amount in some herbs:
Cloves
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Ocimum basilicum (Sweet basil)
Ocimum gratissimum (African basil)
Ocimum tenuiflorum (Tulsi or holy basil)
Star anise
Lemon balm
Bay
Thyme

put 7 8 piece of clove in 1 liter water, wait for min 12 hour, drink everyday, after a meanwhile you will see your hair darker.
another tip, if you feel very tired in the day, put 3 4 clove in your tea, it will go away your tiredness, but you shouldn't try on energetic time, it hardly reduce your cortisol and you feel tired(opposite)

I brush my teeth with clove oil/baking soda every day - have not been to the dentists in years.
Use it in the humidifier to clean the air.

Eugenol is used in Dentistry as an anesthetic and as an ingredient in Filling/Composite material.

The Eugenol is Antimicrobial + reduces hypersensitivity and protects dental nerves from the Aluminum in fillings.

I have preached cloves for over 20 years. Revised this past decade for appropriate doshas. Didn't know about the aluminum protection, thanks.
Don't forget its action on parasite ova.

Since they are so strong you only need a little bit and fry/cook in oil.

Thanks guys

It's also in many commercial toothpastes!

Has anybody tried it for intestinal disinfection?

Also wondering the same. Georgi mentioned something about this during DR podcast the other day.

I have used in the past adding it to the carrot salad. Basically some cloves finely grinded in the electric grinder, spiked over the carrot. It made it more powerful for sure. But didn't use it for too long because of the inconvenience of having to grind it, the taste, etc... Will have to give it a new try.
