hello,

i was wondering if someone could provide a step by step pathway in which excess estrogen induces a hypoxia state in the tissues.

and how it 'steals' oxygen from mitochondria.

thanks!

The best I can describe this is that excessive estrogen liberates fatty acids and shifts cellular respiration to the production of lactic acid instead of carbon dioxide. In the absence of carbon dioxide the oxygen uptake is reduced resulting in tissue hypoxia. This is my lay person simplified explanation.
