I would suggest TRT / thyroid to negate these effects, thats what I'm on and it works greatly

I think you misunderstand something here.

The negative effects described in this study come from starving yourself and in this situation taking thyroid would make things even worse.
"Percent body fat declined from 14.8% to 4.5%"

Strength training in general has many positive effects though. So don't worry about it unless you are starving yourself to be "competitive".

4.5% is just insanely low.... Heck i look pretty darn lean ( I often have people tell me how lean i look) and i tested at 14% via DEXA SCAN
