Hi all,

If you were to make all the correct food choices - low PUFA, fruit carbs, low muscle meats etc - but were calorie deficient, would you still expect markers of stress to be high, such as cortisol and prolactin?

I think you'd be fine from food-related stressors, but perhaps more susceptible to other environmental stressors, especially psycho-social ones.

Generally speaking, yes, but it would depend on various other factors such as:

-Is the person overweight or underweight?
-Is the person hungry and not eating, or is there just no appetite?
-What's the duration of the caloric deficiency period?
