Vitamin D: gives great results in the gym but destroys my libido. From what I know this is an aromatase inhibitor.
Zinc: decent results from working out. Once again, destroys my libido. I understand this can inhibit aromatase but also lower DHT?
Magnesium : good result in the gym, but ruins my libido and also causes shrinkage downstairs. Not sure why on this one. I've never read that it affects DHT or aromatase. It remains a mystery.
Vitamin K: this includes supplementation and from vegetables like kale. Both kill my libido. I think this is a known aromatase inhibitor.

Do we have the same physiological make up!??! Everything you listed here is the same as me.

Do you have LOW iron by any chance?

Yeah the MACA ended up being a huge problem. I briefly thought I had found a way to digest it but man was I wrong. I stopped using it a couple weeks ago and my stomach still hasn't gone back to normal. I don't know if this is even possible but it almost seems like it's done some kind of damage to my stomach. I'm constantly bloated and constipated now. The same way I was on MACA but I quit it cold turkey weeks ago.

As far as magnesium, it gives me so many benefits that it's really frustrating that it kills my libido. Magnesium helps my digestion, my complexion, my anxiety, and helps give me noticeable results in the gym. If it wasn't for that one side effect of killing my libido it would be an amazing supplement. Seems like there must be some way to use it along with something else and maintain a healthy libido but I have no idea what. I've tried b vitamins, boron, ginseng, calcium (also lead to bad constipation), honey, iron, too much to name really...

Not sure if I have low iron, but I've considered it. Unfortunately taking iron pills and also eating beef liver both made me too constipated too continue.. I also tried beef liver pill, but same result.

Interesting. I supplement magnesium for the same benefits that you mentioned, plus helping with sleep. When you say magnesium kills your libido, are you referring to erections, desire, or both?

me too
there is also a topic where someome claims that to much animal protein kills libido...
low dht, high serotonine maybe, there is also zinc in meat...
iron helps me often but i have a bit higher feritin (200)
there could be a combo that could work 4 us...
more iron, cooper, fat and carbs, not so much meat or proteins with high zinc
lifting, sprinting...

Supplemental zinc and magnesium block NMDA receptors and blocking glutamate will reduce dopamine, noradrenaline, histamine. In general they reduce excitatory neurotransmitters and the strength of this effect is based on how long/often you take it and how much you take.

With time if you stop supplementation the NMDA blockade will go away. I do not seem to get the same dull feeling and loss of mental libido from zinc in food, though I suppose if you got enough consistently (daily >30mg from food) it could.

Alcohol acutely raises dopamine and histamine, raising libido that way probably.

Do you know if these effects are expected to be purely psychological?

One glaring issue I notice with magnesium is very noticeable shrinkage downstairs. It's like there's just no blood flow down there. Like thin and flimsy. Could that be caused by the NMDA receptor issue?

Glutamate is the most abundant excitatory neurotransmitter in the body so blocking NMDA which is one of the major receptors will affect you mentally but physically as well. I am not sure how directly it relates. If erections work normally but you just have shrinkage during the day that is due to adrenaline's influence.

Unfortunately also affects erections. Anything that can be done to "increase" glutamate? If that's the right way to word it

Yeah, you are not the only one, there have been many saying this before for magnesium. Yet for some reason when someone says this, people pretend like others have not mentioned this before.

Yeh I would stop it cold if that is the case as well as anything else that can block glutamates effect and pro-GABA supplements if you take any. NMDA blockade will go away. As for increasing glutamate... Well stimulants tend to increase glutamate.

Caffeine does but it also increases adrenal hormones which would likely not help the shrinkage. Also MSG (Monosodium glutamate) from processed foods technically does help there. More protein intake can help. There is not much you can do to increase the effects of glutamate when it keeps being blocked. Main thing is to stop blocking it.

Ironically even though zinc blocks NMDA so its not good in that aspect... it does reduce adrenaline hormones and in my case in the past when I used to take lots of zinc, it screwed with me of course and kills energy pretty hard but my flaccid hang size was almost like I had an erection even though I didnt have one probably because my adrenaline levels were dropped through the floor by zinc.

I still think taking supplemental zinc is bad and it should be gotten from food as it wont have such an intense effect because it is balanced with other nutrients. But I won't say it can't have benefit say if someone had severe shrinkage. Taking zinc temporarily might actually help.

How weak is the libido getting? IMO if you're getting the urge to have sex/ejaculate once a week that's enough and healthy.

^^

People get bizarre expectations that on their ideal diet they'll be ready to go

24/7 and have the ability to shoot like a pornstar multiple times a week. To me that just sounds distracting/unpleasant. Very few things will make you unnaturally horny over a long period of time though as frequent attestations on this forum would suggest lots of things will when first supplemented. Also IME there's a transition period between having a libido primarily driven by stress and a desire for distraction or opioid rushes which frequent sex/masturbation provides and a libido driven by the body's natural impulse to have sex at intervals

I have no idea what cordyceps does for t (or anything else barring perception of aerobic exertion frankly, having taken it) but Gaia supps have never let me down in terms of unexpected reactions from adulterants and they seem to take purity v seriously

You think ejaculating multiple times a week is akin to a porn star? Lol. Yes ideally if prolactin is low enough, you will be ready to go whenever. Doesnt mean you do, it means you could if you the opportunity presented itself. Butin the modern day there are so many men that have erectile problems and libido issues that depend on drugs to perform sexually regularly, barely having sex once a week or worse and you think that's normal when its a sign of declining health. That is due to hypothyroid, high prolactin making them hyposexual.

There's no such thing as stress-driven libido, its like the people that think there is a CO2 erection and a NO erection when all erections depend on nitric oxide, full stop. Libido depends on a combination of many neurotransmitters, hormones, and good thyroid function. You can raise libido by fixing issues in these categories, prolactin being the first thing to look at.

Humans were meant to have strong libido, high motivation and energy, less need for sleep, and ability to enjoy all life has to offer for as long as possible.
Problem is we are all so physically weak and unhealthy nowadays our health standards have changed to reflect the new normal.

Yeah. Once you are married and in your 40s.

Otherwise, if you and your girl are young (in your 20s) and you only get that urge once a week, she'd think something is seriously wrong with you. She'd be right, too.

I have PFS and I get it at least once daily (when I'm in decent hormonal shape). Let alone someone with a functioning androgen and neurosteroid system. How is that considered normal for a young man?

Well by that logic I'd better get circumcised too. Wouldn't want any new girlfriends thinking my eggplant looks weird

Indeed. And "strong libido" is a subjective and arbitrary criterion.
Evolutionarily speaking there's no reason why a man would need to orgasm multiple times a week. If you have a girlfriend atm it's a different situation, since her presence can rev up the libido in a way that wouldn't happen when you're single, and if you're having trouble getting hard off that then yeah there could be a problem.

But even still, there's no physiological need to orgasm multiple times a week. Women ovulate once a month. The fertility difference between a couple where the man orgasms 3x vs. 1x a week is going to be barely measurable, if at all. Not to mention that women have various physical and behavioral indicators that make them more receptive to sex (and you more desirous of it) during the female fertile window.
