Effect of AA's on PCOS

Hi all.
My friend took hydrolysed collagen to help improve her skin and hair. She told me she was shocked when her cycle became regulated (she has PCOS) She hasn't had a cycle for years. She said that within one week of taking HC, it came back. And her cycle has stayed on track, as if her body has gone back to normal.
I know that PCOS is caused by estrogen dominance and AA's are anabolic and so counter active, but would AA's really restore her cycle, and that quickly. What would be the mechanism for such an improvement?

Yes acne and brittle/thin hair hence her trying hydrolysed collagen. The improvement in her PCOS was the unexpected side effect.
