Increase of hepatic glycogen by AG-dieckol supplementation may be due to inhibition of glucose-6-phosphatase in the liver, thereby preventing conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to glucose . Therefore, glucose-6-phosphate can be converted to glycogen.Polyphenols play important roles in preventing the progression of hyperglycemia, partly by increasing hepatic glycolysis and glycogen concentration and/or by lowering hepatic gluconeogenesis
"

"In the present study, AG-dieckol supplementation significantly lowered the plasma and hepatic FFA, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels compared to the control db/db mice.

"However, the supplementation of AG-dieckol suppressed lipid peroxidation in both the erythrocyte and the liver. This result suggests that AG-dieckol would probably ameliorate oxidative stress-induced diabetic inflammation. Its actions are possibly related to upregulation of antioxidant enzymes activities by AG-dieckol.

It seems to reduce c reactive protein quite potently . (examine.com)

I have heard plenty of benefits from some people who supplemented EC: major morning wood after a couple of months, major hair growth, general well being etc.. Ray is usually against algae but pro polyphenols and flavonoids (if I remember right).

Has anyone experimented with Ecklonia cava or has more information to share?

I got some. I am undergoing extensive testing with it at the moment. So far noticed MASSIVELY improved sleep quality, waking up feeling super refreshed.
Which brand did you choose? They all claim to be the special one, some are said to be mixed with maltodextrine etc.. At longe city there's a guy who apparently tested samples and he didn't find there was any ecklonia cava. I think it could be like maca, for us it's exotic and an expensive supplement but for locals it's a turnip/algae. I'm not even mentioning the potential nuclear contamination.
I had come to believe this one was best Ecklonia Cava Extract buy The Superior Antioxidant in Bulk and Pill Form

100ug/mL was able to inhibit 5α-reductase activity by 66.1%, which was not significantly different than Finasteride (despite the latter, at 2nM, inhibiting 94.6% activity) yet isolated Dieckol was found to have similar activity to Finasteride (both inhibiting 95.1% of 5α-reductase activity when Finasteride was at 2nM and Dieckol at 100ug/mL).[60]

Okay so first of all. This feels like the very first substance that improves libido whilst SIMULTANEOUSLY inhibits 5AR... I basically always notice suppression when I take any other 5AR inhibitor.

Check this out though!!

EC is a strong vasodilator and helps restore and increase endothelial function. EC can regenerate the vascular endothelium, the cells critical to the inner lining of the blood vessels. They generate the chemical nitric oxide (NO), which keeps the arterial walls relaxed and dilated. After a six-week study of EC, flow mediated dilation and NO mediated dilation increased by 60% and 50%. In another study, coronary artery disease patients were given EC for six weeks. Blood flow controlled by NO increased 50-60%. These results confirm that EC can rejuvenate damaged endothelial cells to produce NO. This effect was further confirmed in a study on erectile dysfunction (see below).

Scientists studied 31 men with erectile dysfunction (ED) for over six months. They compared eight weeks of EC use to Viagra. They looked at orgasmic function (OF), intercourse satisfaction (IS), overall satisfaction (OS), and erectile function (EF). Over those eight weeks, ECE scored 87%, 74%, 62%, and 66%. Viagra scored 27%, 44%, 39%, and 66%. No side effects were reported with EC:

I'd just like to report that SEANOL does NOT work at all. From Doctor's Best (Fibroboost). It has no GABAergic effects, nor does it improve Nitric Oxide. I actually had to return it and pretend I found a hair in the bottle. I was so disappointed. So now I am testing out other extracts, one from eBay, Nutricology and also Swanson's.

If you believe in Peat ideas I'm not sure how desirable the NO effects would be, I also remember reading about someone who downregulated himself after taking citrulline for a year. Anyways, maybe I'll try it, do you feel less androgenic? I'd want to make sure it isn't spiked with pde5 inhobitors given what it is advertised for.

Didn't you try the one from Swanson already?

Ive tried the ortho nutrition ecklonia cava and it was quite good may give it another go. They use ecklonia in a bodybuilding supplement called follidrone 2 and its regarded as one of the best natural supplements you can buy at the moment. I have also tried it and i agree, its the best supp i have tried to date. Havent tried the swanson brand yet as the reviews on amazon were pretty bad.

well the interesting things about ecklonia is that it increases NO while lowering ROS and inflammation. I think ecklonia lowers the bad things NO increase more than it increases NO. So possibly in this case the NO increase could be good?

Has anyone used Ecklonia Cava recently? Haven’t seen anyone reference it in a long while? @Lokzo did you incorporate it long term or was it more for acute research?
