Increase of hepatic glycogen by AG-dieckol supplementation may be due to inhibition of glucose-6-phosphatase in the liver, thereby preventing conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to glucose . Therefore, glucose-6-phosphate can be converted to glycogen.Polyphenols play important roles in preventing the progression of hyperglycemia, partly by increasing hepatic glycolysis and glycogen concentration and/or by lowering hepatic gluconeogenesis
"
"In the present study, AG-dieckol supplementation significantly lowered the plasma and hepatic FFA, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels compared to the control db/db mice.
"However, the supplementation of AG-dieckol suppressed lipid peroxidation in both the erythrocyte and the liver. This result suggests that AG-dieckol would probably ameliorate oxidative stress-induced diabetic inflammation. Its actions are possibly related to upregulation of antioxidant enzymes activities by AG-dieckol.
It seems to reduce c reactive protein quite potently . (examine.com)

I have heard plenty of benefits from some people who supplemented EC: major morning wood after a couple of months, major hair growth, general well being etc.. Ray is usually against algae but pro polyphenols and flavonoids (if I remember right).
Has anyone experimented with Ecklonia cava or has more information to share?
