Ear Thermometer Vs Mercury Thermometer?

I've been taking my temps for awhile with my glass thermometer, under my arm.

I'm wondering if an ear thermometer with pre-warmed tips could be an accurate, and also much faster alternative

Has anyone compared a traditional thermometer to Braun or one like it to see if they come close?

ear thermometer is all over the place, usually at least half a degree celsius difference between ears and even if i take a few different readings in a row. have a relatively new braun model

ah damn no way ... for some reason i thought it would be almost as accurate. good to know, thank you

i guess you cant beat the accuracy of under arm thermometers :) the trade off being you have to wait 10 mins or so

yeah thats why i wanted to try it in the first place, back to underarm now haha
