Thanks! Ray Peat says on this podcast that he is 85 years old. (There’s been some confusion about his age.)

Nice, thanks for sharing!

Edit:
Q: "What about porn addiction, are there any recommendations you would have for that?"
Peat: "Uhm, no. I think mostly they need a girlfriend..."

The old jokester

80g of protein.... per 4000 calories, maintaining good activity. 7:1 carbs to protein or so. Raises temperature and heart rate, gets thyroid working.

With hypothyroid symptoms, either decreasing protein or increasing carbohydrate will help.

Really cool. But it seems like ray has changed his opinion on protein requirements now and recommends way lower. I would really like to hear more about this. Really hope some body can ask him more in terms of ideal range of optimal protein based on age etc and activity building muscle etc and carb to protein ratio

He was asked this before. You have to get in tune with your body and find out what is right for you. It's very individual.

He mentioned a low protein diet decades ago in 'generative energy'.

I think this could be something lots of people have missed with regards to protein too. It tends to be seen as a universal good. One of the biggest positive impacts I've seen on my metabolism in the last 6 months is gradually lowering my protein intake. For many years, I was heavily into training and weight lifting, where we know protein dogma is engrained. It was a huge blindspot for me.

His "acceptable" fruit list was ever shrinking over the years. Now it's to the point that he's recommending some starches and vegetables over all but a few fruit juices. Interesting.

I wonder how much of that is because he's back living in the States fulltime now (from what I gather) and so he can't get the ripe tropical fruits he had in Mexico. The fruit situation is abysmal here; though I have found some fairly decent fresh apricots a few times recently. Overall though you can't even count on in season local melons to be ripe. Sad.

what results were you having when training with weights then? what body fat are you, whats your muscle mass? how much protein are you eating now?
