I think he is an effective teacher.
He articulates his ideas well and concisely.

He has some truth -but only half truths; no depth.

He was sued (Scientology related perhaps?) I believe twice.

He pushes a lot of supplements and is misguided on the benefits of ketosis.

Ray Peat holds more wisdom in his little finger compared to Berg.

I would view Bergs teachings and dogma cautiously.
So yes, he is as your title says...

"Eric Berg's fraudulent claims and unethical dealings became his downfall which lead to a Medical Board Tribunal whereby his business and professional practice were investigated. Due to this he came very close to having his Chiropractic license revoked. Berg was taken before the Virginia Medical Board of Virginia USA in 2007. The Medical Board of Virginia, as any Medical Board, governs professional code of conduct, professional practice and ethics of health professionals. The findings of the Virginia US Medical Board regarding Eric Berg were as follows: A. Eric Berg was formally investigated between the years of 2000 and 2006 and was found guilty, in an excess of ten numerous violations from differing sections under which he is governed while practicing as a professional Chiropractor. 1) He was found to be utilizing in his care, diagnosis, assessment and treatment of his patients, techniques which were outside the scope of his practice of chiropractic medicine, which did not constitute acceptable standards of chiropractic care and have no reasonable scientific or medical research, investigation, study or data to support their efficacy or therapeutic benefits. (Major Finding - No research to back up his medical claims). 2) Medical Records: He omitted to obtain signed consent forms for treatment. Failed to take adequate patient medical histories and failed to perform medical examinations. (Major Finding - Unprofessional with regards to patient treatment and care). 3) Violated multiple sections on multiple occasions in various media which included newspapers and magazines, flyers and brochures, correspondence with patients or prospective patients and his website. He published or caused to be published advertisements or made or caused to be made statements and representations that were expressly or implicitly false, misleading and deceptive. (Major Finding – Intent Misleading and Deceptive Behaviour). 3.1) Specifically: Despite the lack of reasonable scientific or medical evidence to support the efficacy or therapeutic benefit of specific procedures he practiced, Berg repeatedly advertised or represented to patients and the public either or expressively that said procedures were techniques that could prevent, alleviate, diagnose, assess, treat, or otherwise alleviate a variety of conditions, symptoms to include but not limited to the following: allergies, thyroid problems, infertility, depression, migraines, fibromyalgia, PMS, blood sugar problems, arthritis, sciatica, prostate problems, skin related symptoms, heart problems, stubborn metabolism. (Major Finding – Deception, False Promises). 4) On numerous occasions, Eric Berg used the designation "Dr." without clarifying that he is a doctor of chiropractic, as is seen with correspondence to patients and advertisements in 'Dynamic Chiropractic' for example and on his website. In addition on Eric Berg's letterhead and other documents, in advertisements, and on his website, he repeatedly identified his practice as The Health and Wellness Center, Virginia, USA, without clarifying that it is a chiropractic practice. Further, in undated documentation Eric Berg used the designation "Dr." with respect to four individuals employed at his Wellness Centre without clarifying that these individuals were doctors of chiropractic medicine. (Major Finding- Deception). The results of the Medical Boards findings was a restriction placed upon Eric Bergs License along with a $1500 fine, he was also put on what could be likened to a good behaviour bond, if he did not comply with the Medical Boards recommendations his license would be revoked. In addition he had to undertake a course in medical record training, recording and accountability."

To be fair he is a big name in the alt med world which makes him a target.
Many of these are boiler plate charges any governing board can and has brought against
any physician of any discipline they want to target.
I don't think much of the guy but this particular write up and charges are representative of
how EVERY outlier (including the good ones) is treated. Badly.
I disagree with his ideology and his perspective I don't agree that he's a law breaking derelict.

Regardless of charges

I recently googled him and found many accounts of patients who said he charged them up to 10k for 8 massage sessions as treatment for their adrenal stress as he put it.
unbelievable. He just told them to quit sugar, did some kind of physical stress test and prescribed massages.
