Does food in plastic packaging effect the food?

I have heard loads of stuff saying that plastic packaged food should be avoided at all costs

Yes, plastic can leak to liquid contains of package. And in dry products the micro plastic powder can be found. So plastic package is not the best option, but sometimes inevitable.
