By Inhibiting aromatase, the conversion of testosterone to estrogen is downregulated. This can lead to higher levels of testosterone/estrogen ratio. If a person has a genetic predisposition to hair loss caused by DHT, the offset of this ration can accelerate hair loss. .Also, if you estrogen levels were too high prior to aromatase inhibitors, often SHBG is elevated. In some patients, lowering estrogen lowers SHBG, which also results in increased free testosterone and and acceleration in T conversion to DHT. Possible benefit can be obtained from Nizoral shampoo and azelaic acid applied to the scalp.
