Do antibiotics go out of date?

Are expired antibiotics still worth using?
This has been tested quite a lot IIRC. I think they're good for 5 years at room temp, generally speaking. I remember researching and putting a 5 yr expiration date on mine. But you could probably search your antibiotic on pubmed along with words like "potency" "expiration" etc, and get an exact answer.

Thanks for the suggestion, couldn’t find anything though. What antibiotics do or did you have? Mine are a type of penicillin

If you google "expired penicillin", you'll find a lot of material ... not all in agreement. IIRC penicillin should smell a certain way if it's still good (sulphur maybe?).
