If I bought stuff from Idealabs and just put dmso on my skin and then put the Idealabs product on the dmso would that be like how the products used to be when haidut used dmso with his products?

No.
The formula used to be DMSO + ethanol.
Now it's SFA + ethanol.
So you would still have the SFA on top of the old formulation if you were to add DMSO to the current formulation.
