Ray is against Silica. Not sure if there's a difference chemically between Diat Earth and the silica he talks about, but google ray peat silica.

I am using DE for lymes and find that it works for me as for many others. I also add DE to my dogs food as well and yes I use food grade DE. I started with an 1/8 th of a teaspoon and worked up to a teaspoon a day - detox symptoms was heavy and backed down to 1.4 teaspoon daily and ensure to take enzymes and probiotics to keep my colon clean and regular to rid my body of the dead parasites or toxins released from the detox
