Asking for a female friend of mine.

After years taking a combination pill (Alesse, contains progestin and estrogen), she wants to get her fertility back and conceive. Is in her late 20s, has already stopped it for a month but is unsuccessful with her partner this far. I've read from some googling that these pills can take a while to recover from in terms of getting back to a healthy cycle and uterine condition.

What would you folks recommend for a woman in this situation, getting off the pill and working on conceiving?

BCPs mimic pregnancy so they use up a lot of B vitamins, especially folic acid. If this were my situation, I would supplement with B vitamins and get my physical "house" in order before trying to conceive. I would also definitely start some progesterone! I had a friend who was unable to conceive and I lent her Dr. Peat's "Nutrition for Women" and told her about progesterone; she had a baby the next year.

Good luck!
