In my unofficial quest to find desserts that are meals in and of themselves, I present:

Ile Flottante (floating island)

I have to credit the Great British Baking Show for the introduction. It’s basically soft meringue puffs floating in a liquid custard (creme anglais)

I ran the numbers through Chronometer and the full recipe is:
135g protein
112g carbs
37g fat

It’s mostly (entirely?) eggs, whole milk and sugar. I might suggest added fruit (or cocoa) for the nutrients & additional carbs, but the eggs and milk provide a full compliment of macros.

Dinner just got better!

it seems like it can be baked or poached. One of the videos had it poached in the milk that eventually went into the custard

Ima have to try this. I do large bowl of hagen daz vanilla icecream with grassfed milk poured on top of it every night before bed. This recipe you got here could replace that for me every once in a while

This is why I posted Appalachian "float" on Rinse's food threads. Super easy to make in one pan, endless variations, nutritious, and keeps well. Make it thicker, or richer or not. Go to youtube and put in appalachian float.
