Teeth health has been my schtick ever since it went way way downhill after chronic stress (I was using NDT at the time too). Dr. Ellie's system is good but I couldn't keep up with it. And hated buying the closys, it's basically glorified bleach anyway. Also the Listerine has conflicting info so I dumped that. Xylitol messed my gut and I hated swishing it. Stimulating the gums has a lot of supportive evidence. As does using a waterpik so that's what I have been doing. I put iodine in the waterpik, just a few drops as it is pretty strong on the gums. This greatly helps bleeding and gets food out that flossing can't. As far as decay... It's an acid and bacteria problem, along with lack of subsequent remineralization. I don't like milk it's makes my gut yucky so I eat cheese and that does help.

For decay that is getting worse please try to find a dentist who offers SDF silver diamine fluoride. It completely stops the decay in it's tracks. It's typically used for kids who can't sit still for dental work. Has saved thousands of teeth. My own son included. He will still need expensive work done but it bought us time. And he won't have to suffer an abscessed tooth.

Cortisol(aka chronic stress) destroys histamine in the body. Histamine plays a major role in secretions like saliva and what not. That's partly the reason why stress can cause teeth problems. Dry mouth = teeth problems. Protein and calcium is recommended of course for the teeth, more protein = more histidine = more histamine. Cheese is proportionally higher in histidine then most other animal proteins, so that makes it especially good.

I like this theory but I think I had a lot of histamine during that time as I struggled with the antidote which is adrenaline. My ability to orgasm was extremely high. I had lots of saliva. One thing I did have a problem with was acids left on the teeth. Actually now that my histamine is way under control with vitamin C I'm getting more gumline cavities. Probably less saliva now.

I wonder about this. But I think Ray is right about endotoxins from the gut causing gum line cavities and that's a better outcome than it stealthily causing incursions of bacteria beneath the gum line, leading to periodontitis.

And periodontitis itself becomes a source of endotoxins that goes directly into the bloodstream.

Yeh vitamin C has strong antihistamine effects which are stronger the more you take. It dries my mouth, eyes, nose up pretty easily so I avoid large doses of C which includes no C supplements and limit high C foods.

Update:

After drastically increasing milk/calcium intake and bringing protein levels to a more reasonable level, I have had zero pains in my mouth, even with still having dry mouth issues at night. In addition, brushing my teeth no longer hurts (the first night I tried to use the electric toothbrush I literally couldn't the pain was so bad) at all. Hoping this is a good sign. Am also using the prescription fluoride every day.

Most of my sugar is now carried with milk in the same drink, hoping that this can mitigate some of the possible damage that sugar may cause to the teeth too.

Calcium intake is roughly 5 times as much as it was before. 2-3 grams a day.

Fantastic. Now tape your mouth with first aid tape when you go to bed.

I tried the mouth taping once or twice. Getting dry mouth even with that. Don't know if that means if somehow I am breathing through mouth with tape or if my mouth simple doesn't produce saliva at night? I will say it only happens towards the latter half of the night which is 100% connected to glucose/glycogen/CO2 etc.

If only, there was highly competent dentists everywhere. It's like all medical professionals are trained one way and don't further their research to improve their care. Your testimonial encourages me to develop a full dental care strategy. I've never had much cavities, but my gums are receding and I have a white tongue.
Well the good news is that my dentist still doesn't understand any of this, but at the end of the day, a tooth that remains numb to Endo Ice trumps everything. What I learned is you have to really be willing and able to fight it out. It's so worth it if you do. My recommendation to start would be to see if your dentist can email you your last set of x-rays and email them to dr. Manhart. [email protected]
Here is an excerpt of one of his emails to me:

Good, just ask the dentist to use the Endo Ice sprayed on a cotton ball to test for vitality. A normal healthy tooth like #8 or #9 will respond to the intense cold in 2 to 3 sec. and the cold will recede quickly. No response much longer like 5+sec would mean something is wrong, and higher 8+ sec that it is non-vital, and in need of a root canal. This is the easiest root canal to do in the mouth. This will save the tooth and the calcium material treatments eliminates the infection in the bone. Both must be addressed, tooth and bone.

When one has to have their teeth cleaned every 3 or 4 mos. that is a classic indicator of the Diastemic infection between #8+9.

There will seem to be no symptoms, but when you find so most cases with a dead tooth there, and an event 20 years ago that set off the infection, and a suspicious x-ray like yours, and a fat pad behind th0se two central, it’s better to triple check things.

Mark DDS

He also continued to email with me throughout the process, encouraging me when I was getting nowhere with the local dentists/oral surgeons. He's genuinely interested and concerned about you and that's what I found to be so compelling about him. He's more interested in educating people about this issue than about promoting his products or getting business. His products truly are the most affordable out there. Check out his website, see what you can find out and then I'd do the x-ray thing just to see what he has to say.

Regards~

Unfortunately I grind my teeth resulting in sensitive areas. I've been rinsing my teeth and soaking my gums in Epsom salt. Also mag hydroxide helps with dental and gum pain. salt rinse help as well. I know tumeric is frown on here however a paste made from tumeric, fresh ground pepper and coconut oil helps with any loose teeth. I found this info years ago on an Ayurvedic blog post and use it when I have a bad night of grinding. Matcha tea rinses also help. I use to drink the tea however after I started peating I've resorted to rinses when my teeth are overly sensitive.
Other thing I use are bone broth, organ meats, essentially oils including oregano oil, cinnamon and clove in a rinse and applications to the jaw. Vitamin k, a and d. Also vitamin c is vital for gum tissue repair.

I read a study this morning that stated the p. Ginseng Meyer can help destroy bad bacteria in the mouth and throat. It's worth looking into.

Thanks for the info, I like the part about turmeric, pepper and coc oil. I just ordered a bag of curcumin from bulk supplements so I might give that a try!

So to follow up on that story for anyone who's interested, Dr. Manhart looked at my xrays (for free I might add, he's super generous with his time and advice) and felt that I could possibly have an infection between my top two front teeth. I went to my dentist and asked him to apply endo-ice and sure enough the tooth was numb to this ice (like dry ice in a can?)

So he referred me to an endodontist who because he couldn't see the infection on the xray said my "discomfort" was probably the result of tooth grinding and my underbite. So I took a chance and went to a root canal specialist who also was baffled that my top front tooth was totally numb to the endo ice and I remember her staring at the xray in puzzlement. So the long story short is, dentist, endos, etc. are trained to look for infection at the root of the tooth but they can't seem to imagine the fact that there could be an infection basically right above the gumline in the "diastemic" area. Think gap in the two front teeth except I don't have a blatant one. You can see the gap in the xrays because my teeth actually do sort of angle up right at the gumline and there is a tiny hole between my teeth there, but I had braces.

But anyway, back to the "long story short", the root canal specialist couldn't refute the fact that there was no sensation there and agreed to give me a root canal (Manhart agrees this is the best treatment in order to save the tooth, but this is also only accomplished with subsequent calcium treatment) and thereby confirmed that the tooth was indeed dead. I have purchased the calcium strips for a whopping $9 (not a typo) and they're reusable and will probably last several months. I also use K2, D3, A. My teeth look better than ever and more importantly they feel better, but the issue was really in my gums and my gums were declining quickly. Imagine having a dead tooth in your mouth for years if not decades and the havoc that would wreak on not only your mouth but your entire system! Digestive, heart, etc. etc. Now I finally feel like I'm healing. I did all the Ray Peat stuff and I think that basically kept me alive while my body was fighting this infection, but I wasn't really getting better.

you had a root canal on the dead tooth while keeping the tooth in your mouth?

ive got a dead front tooth from an accident years ago. Never thought about it until you posted this!

Yes, according to Dr. Manhart you can repair the bone under the gums with calcium therapy. Sometimes they can save the tooth anyway but there is risk of infection if you don't use calcium therapy. The cool thing about calcium strips is they make your gums feel so nice and soothed. If I don't use them for a couple of days I start to feel the tooth loosening. Although I also need to get my composite done.

You said you used braces. Do you have a narrow palate? Where does your tongue rest normally?

I used braces too, and for a huge period of time( 6 years give or take). I believe this was one of the most important contributors to facial imbalances and cracking jaw, as well as crooked nose. It also was causing me to have a terrible posture, since the braces were pulling my maxilla back, making me have to protude my jaw forward to straighten my neck. I've removed my braces over a year ago( against my orthodontist's agreement) and never used anything to prevent the teeth from moving after removing the braces. Actually, as soon as I removed them, I started mewing really hard, since I realized how badly the braces had affected me. Over time, I was able to actually sneeze through my nose instead of through my mouth. I can breathe better( through my nose) now. My chin is much less receded, and I can easily keep my tongue strongly against the roof of my mouth, In the beginning, there wasn't even much room for my tongue, but now it seems pretty comfortably there. Of course, I'm just one year into mewing, so I'm really just starting my journey. I imagine how my face will look like in ten years from now, since there are nuances on how exactly you're placing the tongue and it takes time to learn those.

Have you ever looked into mewing?

You talk about calcium therapy. I have a lot of tartar behind my canines. Yellow teeth and gums bleeding when I brush my teeth.
If we had to summarize what should be done in a day to have beautiful teeth and solid?
I read weston price but it did not have a big effect on my teeth.

Go to calciumtherapy.com and check out the products. They aren't fancy but they have made a world of difference on my teeth. The bottle that you buy to put water in for brushing and the calcium strips are probably the most important to start, and will set you back a whopping $18. I think I am on my second year of using the same bottle for the toothbrushing. Stop flossing and stop using commercial toothpastes. If you have food stuck in a tooth, floss that one spot and then stop. Otherwise you are moving bacteria from one part of the mouth to the other. You brush with the water and then use the strips for 1-2 hours a day. Don't swallow the water or your saliva while using the strips. If you have periodontitis then you may have a dead or dying tooth and it may need a root canal. My teeth have never looked or felt better since I was a kid, I think my teeth started to go downhill when I was about 19. I never regularly flossed, even as a kid and I never used to have cavities or gum disease, but suddenly at around age 19 my dentists would get extremely frustrated because they thought if I just flossed regularly my teeth and gums would improve drastically. Getting on thyroid and taking vitamins A, D and K definitely helped but the infection was in my tooth and in my gums already for a long time before I discovered those vitamins and thyroid.

I would recommend more fats and less grains and meat. Eggs, butter, milk at the expense of grain and meat. There’s some sweet spot, because a diet of just eggs, butter, and milk will give you beautiful, beautiful teeth, but cause problems in other areas.

Can you tell me exactly what I have to buy on the site because I am French and do not understand English well.

I would also like to know what I have to do once the products are received. Thank you
