My house is a little damp, so I've been thinking about picking up a dehumidifier. Anyone know whether that would be good / bad for my health? Only bit of Peat info I can find on humidity is that hypo people may get in some trouble if they consume water in such a saturated environment.

I haven't tried to verify this, but there's common claim that high humidity drops negative ion levels. If that's true, it'd be another point in favor of lowering the humidity.

I am infinitely more alive, more functional and I moan so much less in a non-humid environment. I get something that feels like allergies (itchy skin on my face), and it disappears in consistent low humidity. I sleep better too. They are expensive though! So I'm waiting around for a second-hand one for my new house.

Thanks for the input! Sounds like humidity may be another reason to live at high elevations.

If I decide to buy one I'll have post a log tracking my experiences at various humidity levels.
