I've been experimenting with higher doses of cyproheptadine spread throughout the day (16 - 24 mg per day dissolved in hot water).

The results have been spectacular, but is there any concern over liver toxicity with this dosage?

I don't think thats a high enough dose to cause liver damage. But it would depend on your height and weight.

If you do a quick look on pubmed for "cyproheptadine liver" you'll have more accurate answers.

Cyproheptadine is capable of damagin the liver but it's very rare. Keep it in mind it has been trialed recently in children for autism. There are very few case reports of liver damage from cypro.

My understanding is wether it can damage the liver or not, you shouldn't use it for long periods of time.

You can always do bloodtests for liver enzimes.

I can't see a discontinuation of something so beneficial to my well-being. I will see about a blood-test.

Can you describe how you feel on this dose? thanks
+1

I tried once Cypro (0.5 mg ) and around 2h later i was falling asleep a lot a lot, it was so funny and strange feeling, it made me slower and the next day it felt like a hangover or some, i assumed i cant be getting it daily even in case if there would be some benefits from it. At night i hardly fall asleep only if i miss to refill (my blood sugar is low).

Well... The idea is to lower serotonin/histamine with diet, sunlight, bowel health, etc.
Cypro seems to be quite safe anyway.

'results have been spectacular'

doesn't state results.

Great.

Fine.
- Masturbation no longer drains my energy, and I have a greater agency over whether to choose to engage in the act or not.
- More prominent libido when engaging with girls.
- Less anxiety in all social situations.
- ADD symptoms completely absent.
- Ability to concentrate in college lectures for over two hours; only applies if blood sugar is balanced both before, during, and after the lecture.
- Absence of learned helplessness; things feel easy and no longer a chore.
- Less nausea and ability to consume copious amounts of orange juice, milk, and coconut oil; additionally, able to swallow supplemental pills without gagging.
- Sleep quality greatly improved; the stress-response evoked from operating on a sleep deficit has diminished 70-90% (partly due to increased appetite and subsequent carbohydrate consumption).
- Blood-sugar response and response to stress in general greatly reduced; more physiological stability.
- Autistic tendencies have decreased greatly; I find myself engaging people more readily in conversation.
- Stopped working out due to a recent concussion; weight and muscle mass have both increased.
- Lowered body fat due to increased consumption of metabolic uncouplers (such as coconut oil).
- Depression greatly minimized.
- Much quieter and sedated; no urge to speak unless asked.
- Dark circles around eyes have lessened.
- Improved clarity of vision.
- No more arthritic aches in joints; recovery from stress greatly improved, as evident in a very quick rebound from my concussion.
- Increased libido, but a diminished compulsion to look at porn and other forms of entertainment; more centered and grounded.
- More decisive in following through with actions; I stick to a schedule more easily now.
- No more negative self-talk voices and anxious thoughts.

Dosage: 8 mg Periactin (cyproheptadine) three times per day dissolved in warm water, let sit for 10 minutes, and then drink the liquid without swallowing the precipitated solid particles.

It seems you've been faster, more anxious and cypro it might slowed you down, more calmer and steady?

Not pretty sure how exactly cypro works as a whole- is it makes you hungry and that affects the neurotransmitters or is it directly pushing on them, but if makes you slower and hungrier isnt it that mean it lowers your serotonin, insulin, and when you eat you rise them actually etc.

(3 x 8mg cypro means you eat at least 4 times a day) - you are balancing your blood sugar with all that carbs, fats you've mentioned.

Can you tell what would be the outcome if you keep doing the same cypro dose but not eat so much or at least if you cut the food in 1/2, 1/3 ?
Did you find some of the B vit's to have similar effect on you well being ?

It probably wouldn't be as effective. My recent concussion killed my apetite, and I've been noticeably feeling worse.

B-vitamins are okay, but I find that they have a powerful impact if used in conjunction with one another.

Interesting, I am dealing with a lot of the same things you are. I found cypro made me feel spacey and that I had no energy to do anything but lie around, I figured it was due to its effect on lowering dopamine in addition to the serotonin?

I find that phenibut works for the things you mentioned, too bad it is super addictive

Have you ever tried trt or any other androgens like dht?

Have not. Haidut recommends DHT. Testosterone has implications in ALS, along with aromatization, which promotes cancerous tissue.

How did you come to the conclusion to try that much Cypro? I saw you recommend 16mg to someone else with gut issues too. I have digestion difficulties. Just started on Cypro, but am having some weight gain. Do you have any increased weight (fat, not muscle) from taking that large of a dose?

Cypro initially made me gain weight; now I lose weight when I take it. It has to do with long-term stress reduction.

Yeah, I no longer gain weight from it either. I think that eventually settles down when you take it long term and it helps lower cortisol and increases metabolism.

That's great to hear, thank you!

That's good news. Do you know how long it took to level off?

Are you still doing this protocol? Is it still as effective for you or have the benefits worn off?

I was doing a lot in addition to that protocol. Most of the benefits remained, but 24 mg/day can elevate liver enzymes.

Did you stop Cypro altogether or did you just lower the dose? I just got mine a week ago and I'm up to 8mg per day without feeling drowsy at all. I was interested in trying a higher dose for a while, since I have high estrogen and serotonin, to see if that would help.
