I read a few studies there is apparantly a different type of Cushings which instead of mass producting ACTH it mass produces CRH(Cortisol releasing hormone) which would lead to constant 24/7 anxiety if its in the brain IE in the hypothalamus. There are CRH-receptors located all over the brain and a CRH secreting tumor would lead to overactive fear region parts of the brain, But this type of benign tumor is very rare.

Ectopic CRH or ACTH/CRH co-secreting tumors are a very rare cause of Cushing’s syndrome and only few cases have been reported in the literature (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15).
