Crazy question, but does putting the finger in the throat to induce gagging , not vommitting, increase stomach acid?

I don’t see why it would do anything but increase cortisol and adrenaline since it is a stressful experience on the body

in some traditional medicines, it's used to cleanse the liver .
first they eat a large bowl of water from fat and meat cooked with some spices to make it tolerable.
then they wait some minutes before inducing a vomiting by gag reflux.

I think that "putting the finger in the throat to induce gagging , not vommitting"
would just bring some stomach acid up into the esophagus. I don't see it increasing the acid in the stomach.
