I watched that a while ago. I don't think I agree with him that transhumanism is bad in and of itself. It really depends on how you execute it. The problem with mainstream transhumanism that we have now is that its very much neoliberal and part of the establishment. Its there mostly to serve the agenda of the ruling class and not there for the benefit of the average folk.

As technology keeps progressing I think some kind of transhumanism is inevitable, you can't really stop it except by stopping scientific and technological progress completely. The best way to deal with it, in my opinion, is to ensure that these technologies benefit people rather than benefit those in power. I think that the only way that can happen is if people have more control over their personal and political lives than the ruling class does over them. Transhumanism under the current political system is bound to be harmful.
