For me personally, when the protein in my diet is low my cold tolerance goes down. If I eat enough protein every day (> 150 grams) the I have no issues with cold tolerance.

If you are drinking a lot of liquids (even hot ones), that can have an overall cooling effect. In contrast, increasing salt intake may help you stay warmer.

You can also try taking cold showers in the morning. Someone I know said that it helped their body become less sensitive to temperature extremes (both cold and hot). It would not be an immediate thing, but you can try it for a month or two to see if you experience benefits.

Jumping in cold rivers for a few minutes followed by bath/sauna has made me basically invincible to cold. I really do wonder if a lot of metabolic issues with low heat production is just confusion of the CNS what exactly kind of environment it’s in and a little hormetic stimulation might not be a bad idea.
