Hello im a noob.

"We have previously shown that a water extract of Centella asiatica (CAW)"

If i cant purchase a water-extract (no i cant make tinctures myself) of a herb
as they use in scientific trial im not interested to hear what a water extract is :)

But if as close to water extract means purchasing a alcohol free?????? glycerine tinture of a herb
then i wanna hear more, i would suspect that tincture is more watery than purchasing
a powder-form, or just as un-related?

Do you mean tea?
Its you who have the answers here, not me :)
but in a logical sense tea is a water extract

Hmm...it exists exclusive gotu kola (Centella asiatica) tea, so i guess you are wery close to probably being spot on what they mean.
So the question (do not) remain, a herb in a alcohol free glycerite doest not include water extraction?
