Many municipal water treatment plants use alum as a settling agent, and some plants do not filter post treatment of that compound. So, just like with fluoride, how many food processing plants are using a municipal water that has fluoride or alum in it? Hence, there may be more aluminum in our water and food than we think there is.

Processed cheese (slices, spreads, blocks), as opposed to real cheese, is the highest food source of Al, so high that it dwarfs all others.

Are manufacturers required to list sodium aluminum phosphate in the ingredient lists?

I'm able to find very few products with this ingredient listed. Have tried all kinds of keywords related to this ingredient, including SALP, SAlP and E541.

It is either not used anymore, or the manufacturers are not required to put it on labels.

Damn.

They are not required to list it in the ingredients. Never consume processed cheese.
Just to make sure I'm understanding it correctly, does it mean that cheese in loaves like that is also considered processed cheese and likely contain sodium aluminum phosphate?

Cities discharge that treated water into a river and the next city/town downstream intakes it for drinking water. Rinse and repeat.

No, processed cheese is not cheese at all. It does not have to do with water either. It is an emulsion of aluminum and gum with food colouring and milk. The Al is what makes the milk and gum form a smooth consistency that congeals. Most cheese slices are processed. Some cheese spreads are processed (others are real cheese with extra oil added). Velveeta is a block-style processed cheese. Real cheese is easy tell from the processed fake stuff.

Ah, that makes sense. Thank you!
