To put things in context, I recall Charles Poliquin mentioning that in strength training, the nervous system takes 5x more time to recover than the other metabolic (muscle cell) processes.
On the one hand, I've never been one of the fast(er) metabolic types, and much more of the slow burn type, either mentally or physically. I might take a long time to burn out, but when I do it takes as long to recover.
On the other hand, most of the posts here focus on the overall metabolic processes (liver, etc.), that I would call shorter-term or shorter-cycle.
Have any of you found a way to speed up / shorten your recovery cycles (at the mental / neural energy level) ?
