Cancer Phenotype Successfully Reversed With 'Compression'?

I was searching for evidence to use for examples of people reversing the cancer phenotype back to that of a normal cell and came across Mina Bissell from UC Berkeley on TED talks.

Apparently over the past 30 years she's been working on cancer and was finally able to reverse the cancer phenotype, except in a strange way. She subscribes to the gene mutation theory of cancer as opposed to its true metabolic origin, so her interpretations may not be correct.

Her claim is that by altering the cellular microenvironment through compression the cancer cells were reverted back to normal.
"The flexible chambers allowed the researchers to apply a compressive force in the first stages of cell development. Over time, the compressed malignant cells grew into more organized, healthy-looking acini that resembled normal structures, compared with malignant cells that were not compressed. The researchers used time-lapse microscopy over several days to show that early compression also induced coherent rotation in the malignant cells, a characteristic feature of normal development."

What do you think is happening here metabolically?

Since aspirin also seems to be able to reverse the cancer phenotype, that strongly points to cancer not being due to mutations. Otherwise, you'd have to explain how aspirin induces selective beneficial mutations in a single generations of cells. Hint: it doesn't.

Not sure how intelligent people like her can subscribe to the mutation theory. Unless they are just doing it only publicly, for funding/publicity...
And keep in mind this is really not some esoteric theory. It even hit the front page on Reddit about 2 years ago and most people commenting on it (many are scientists) were reduced to mumbling embarrassed incredulities.
