So much for winning the war on cancer. I already posted another link (again from CNN) that cancer is now the leading cause of death in USA, surpassing the previous top killer CVD.

Women's cancer deaths expected to rise 60% by 2030 - CNN.com

"...The number of women dying worldwide from cancer is expected to rise to 5.5 million by 2030, roughly the equivalent population of Denmark, according to a new report from the American Cancer Society (PDF). Those numbers would be an increase of almost 60% from cancer death rates in 2012, when 3.5 million women lost their lives to the disease."

birth control..? even though there is an increased risk of cardiovascular disease more so than cancer from those. Few days ago there was an article about male contraceptives, really a pill for everything seems the motto

By 2030, the total world population and population of elderly will increase. The International Agency for Research on Cancer is projecting cancer rates to rise, but the numbers are higher than population growth estimates. There are numerous reasons for this, given that most cancers for men are lung and breast for women. They're not only calculating the population increase, but estimating cancer rates to rise beyond the increase.

The treatment for cancer in the U.S. is archaic, outdated, and impractical. On one hand, they state the immune system controls or keeps cancer from proliferating, but then radiation and chemotherapy are immune system destroyers. What ends up happening post-treatment is increased future cancer risk or infection during or after treatment that ends up almost killing or actually killing the person.

Maybe the war is not on cancer, but on the cancer host.
