Can Fiber Be Fully/Largely Digested By Gut Bacteria?

My digestion switched from one day to the other.
I went from a large amount of fecal waste and no-smell farts to a much smaller amount of fecal waste and smelling farts. This makes me think my gut bacteria are doing their job at digesting the fibre.
I've always thought fibre was fully indigestible to humans. Was I wrong?
EDIT: Coming from 9 months of plant-free carnivore diet.

Soluble fiber is fermentable whereas insoluble fiber isn't. Soluble fiber can feed bacteria, whereas insoluble doesn't.

Not all fibers are fermentable. It would be best to research the fermentability of the fibers constituting the foods you are interested in eating, making note of the SCFAs and gases produced.
