Can Anyone Confirm If Memantine Is Theanine, Just Modified For Patent?

curious to know as its prescribed for Alzheimer's once they exhaust/poison the patient with acetylcholine excess.
A doctor told me it was, for some reason I don't fully trust him?
I've seen theanine help mood in Alzheimers patient but 2 potent ssri's are still given to the patient, acetylcholine patch was stopped. Walking has improved slightly.

They both stabilize glutamate levels in the brain, although theanine does so via modulation of the receptor IIRC, while memantine does so through direct antagonism of the NMDA receptor.

I'd be more worried about effects from ceasing memantine than with theanine, although the latter may cause minor downregulation of the receptor; the effect does not hold a candle to benzodiazepenes.
