I read that gold is the least toxic dental material for the body when using it to make crowns and bridges. I also read that it can't be 100% gold, maybe 60% gold and must be mixed with other metals, is this true? If it is true, what should one choose for the other metals in the mix, which metals would be the least toxic choices?

my dentist pointed out that gold is also an alloy so it's not pure gold and the other metals may be problematic. He's a fan of the bonded composite fillings and for implants, zirconium.

Two different alloys dentists use in "gold" cast dentistry:

77% Gold, 13% Silver, 8.5% Copper, 1.0% Palladium, Less than 1% Indium, Iridium, Zinc

64.0% Gold, 23.4% Silver, 3.0% Palladium, 0.1% Platinum
