Anyone have any links on any studies on this stuff?

There are lots of studies on brainwave entrainment. https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0,39&q=binaural+beats+brain+&btnG=

The slow breathing stuff is harder to find. Below is a nice introduction and it includes some references. You can use it to find some keywords to search for additional studies. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blo...atic-breathing-exercises-and-your-vagus-nerve .

Have a happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanks Lisa. My habit is to follow the expansion of of my diaphragm for 5 seconds during my inhalation and then follow its relaxation for 5 seconds during exhalation. My aim is for a smooth inhalation and exhalation so that I am not adding any extra stress. I use the video much like a piano student uses a metronome to keep true to the rhythm of the 6 breaths per minute. My slow breathing habit may inherently be a mindfulness practice.

Epigenetic changes are associated with ones habits. I like to think of my slow breathing practice as a habit with my genome responding accordingly. I sometimes include a So-Hum meditation with a long silent sooo during my inhalation and a huuumm during exhalation. But So-Hum is not yet part of my habit.

Have a happy Thanksgiving holiday.
Very cool. I sometimes use MA, OM - similar to SO HUM. MA means eternal happiness, OM - most of us know this meaning :):

Thank you for your wishes ❤️

Trying to find research on binaural beats.
Have tried listening to many different ones as I research online.

This one so far appears to induce the most effects: strange warmth in the face, a very strong burning hunger in the stomach; desire to lift heavy weights.
Could be other variables or even placebo, but still interesting:

i'm studying for personal trainer and in my
curriculum is reffered to vibration platform and that it can increase testosterone. I don't know if this is a risk but there also is a warning to never use frequenties lower than 20 hertz because of organ resonation.

The slow breathing stuff sounds like a similar principle to the buteyko method. I'm assuming you're increasing Co2 levels, as occurs with the underbreathing exercises of buteyko?

I've been suffering from dizzyness/faintness/mild confusion after work for a long while now. I thought it could be directly tied to blood sugar/glycogen; but I think it's due to poor breathing habits when at work. I'm Essentially putting myself in a slightly hypoxic state for 8 hours, which is obviously not a good idea.

Edit: I think should be know. Underbreathing exercises stop the symptoms dead. The tricky thing is remembering to breathe properly throughout the day after years of poor breathing habits ingrained.

15 minutes per day for 3 months is all that I needed to reset my breathing. It is a big time commitment but it is worth it.

As I stated above in this thread:
Another brainwave entrainment method that I use is slow deep breathing. It is not easy to stay focused. I use Youtube as a crutch. One effect of slow deep breathing is to tone the vagus nerve and reduce blood pressure.
For slow breathing to work, it needs to be done daily for several month to get the full benefit. The video that I like best is a 6 Breaths Per Minute - YouTube It is best to have an Adblocker when watching this video.

I sit in front of a red brooder light and I use this video as a timer to measure the duration of my morning light session.

Best of luck.

MindAlive.com has a lot of machines including a CES (cranial electric stim). Which i would like to sell. It's called OasisPro.

It has a tDCS (direct current stim) add on you could buy separately if you can convince them you're a professional.

tDCS is overrated in my opinion. The effects can be strong once you learn where to place the electrodes, but the effects don't last.

If somebody could manufacture a tDCS machine with a two anode system that would be much better. (One ground - cathode - and two anodes for the head). That way one could train for connectivity. Training for one site doesn't do anything.

If someone is interested in the the OasisPro email me at [email protected]. It's a pretty interesting machine. A lot of capabilities. It's $450 new. Make me a fair offer.

Are you 2 still using these beats for positive effects?

Been playing around with DHT and androstenol binaural beats on walks and throughout the day. Not sure they are doing anything but the testosterone posted on page one had a significant relaxation effect. Curious to know if this will have a physiological effect on hormone production...?

Sorry to bring back an old thread. I use isochronic tones designed for the adrenals, kidneys, thyroid and liver, it's weird because I can actually feel something happening. My adrenals especially get this burning sensation. I don't claim that they work but they have a therapeutic feeling to them and that is good enough for me.

I imagine wavelengths bring awareness to certain parts of the body and help you consciously focus on certain parts and with that your body may also respond in a positive way. Just like you really need to focus for super tight muscles to loosen them naturally.

Cool thread thanks for the revive. I listen to Wholetones, the original CD, they can be kind of gimmicky and really ethereal sounding but I like the frequencies that underly the music. Yes I could just download some YouTube videos with the Hz in the background but I like the production quality on these and they seem to really serve their purpose.

Hey mate, which video exactly you use? The link you provided is a search, not a direct link to a specific video.

This is the video that I was watching back in 2017 when I wrote my post. I am still doing breathwork.

I have used other visual metromes. For me, the key was to find a visual that allowed me to easily stay focused on my breathing. Here are some other videos that I found easy to follow.
