Oh, almost left out another key point. Wild game is higher in PUFA than domestic livestock.

Once again, we humans (and cheetahs too lol) are an exception when it comes to how much sfa we often take in relative to pufa and mufa. There is virtually no limit to how much sfa we are able to get if we simply want to.

To quote myself from earlier today:

“High SFA consumption may be unique to humans, most carnivores eat very lean prey and they do not guzzle down butter or coconut oil either.”

I stand by this statement and have posted various papers which make my case abundantly obvious.

Where are the hypothyroid lions and tigers and coyotes and hyenas and wolves, they all take in a majority of PUFA and MUFA, conservatively, less than 45% of their dietary fat is SFA. Organ meat and organ fat while often higher in SFA still has a lot of MUFA and PUFA. Are these predators eating anything close to beef tallow or coconut oil? No!

What is unique to their diets which ours is lacking? Raw game meat is massively higher in vitamin E than cooked farm animal meat. Their only source of PUFA comes with plenty of vitamin E. Our major sources of PUFA come with little to no vitamin E, partly through poorly raised farm animals, and partly through sitting on a shelf and then being cooked, or from fried foods which have a modicum of vitamin E left. We are lucky if we get any vitamin E, virtually all of the U.S.A. is vitamin E deficient, this is not even an outsider statement, the mayo clinic or who can tell you that. The naivety of blaming PUFA instead of blaming Vit E deficiency is just asinine.

Ok, first of all: Is there any particular reason you make several posts in a row, instead of just writting one? Have you noticed that this always happens when you get angry? It seems that when someone challenges your statements, you wildly start googling studies, and immediately post them without reading them, one by one. Why don't you take some time, read the material you want to cite, and then make a coherent statement instead of this confused staccato?

If only I could find a reliable source on tiger or lion or hyena fat composition we could really put this to rest.

Oh, luckily we do have these. Their fat is approximately half SFA, half MUFA, with little PUFA. Similar to humans. The values below are for captive animals, the authors note that the fat of wild specimen is even more saturated. They also have studies on pumas and lions.

Animal fats. 6. The component acids of tiger fat and of puma fat

The table in this paper really really REALLY makes it clear. Wild game, even in Africa, is high in PUFA and MUFA.

Have fun Trolls!

Wild game, lol. Again, maybe you should just read what you post. And further, you do realize that they analyzed only the fatty acid composition of one particluar muscle that contains 2-4% of whole body fat, right? I wonder what they feed those animals at the feeding points they mention? Maybe something that is cheap and economical like soy or corn, who knows.

What exactely is your point here? With minor differences the picture is the same in every species. Most of their fat is saturated, or an almost equal mixture of SFA and MUFA, while PUFA is much lower.
