As you see, oysters have a ton more zinc and copper than blue mussels, and RP recommends oyster for the zinc and copper. Blue mussels have more selenium and manganese, so if you wanted those nutrients, they would be good for that. I don't think you should eat a huge amount of either oysters or blue mussels since they do contain some PUFA. If there is a lack of food containing zinc and copper there, maybe you should consider taking supplements.

Another thing to bear in mind about oysters (and I guess mussels):
Peat reminded me via email that oysters contain a lot of iron.
I had written him because I was worried about a sky-high ferritin test I'd had.
He noted about the oysters and iron.
And he also sent me a study showing that zinc could elevate ferritin
(I'd been taking some zinc/copper because, as I recall,
I was thinking the copper could help me get rid of excess iron....)
