Hi folks,

Which is the best supplement for dealing with bad performance anxiety, to take before an encounter and not causing drowsiness?

Phenibut seems interesting, but I’m concerned about sides and withdrawal risks, in addition I’d like to try first the natural route.

Thanks!

Why do you always do those double posts?

Edit: FFS, you just opened up a third one.

anxiety is a "mental issue" and since it is performance anxiety before an encounter is a "male issue" --> easy peasy double posting

that being said, do you have any experience with propranolol?

Anything that stabilizes blood sugar levels should help anxiety (by decreasing cortisol). In theory, and in my experience as well.

Also, @faxmulder this forum has tags now, so use these instead of doing multiple posts. You‘ll get a better discussion going that way too instead of the comments spread out through gazillion of different posts.

Half a Viagra for first encounter then anxiety might lessen for next encounters.

A very natural way to combat anxiety is Buteyko method breathing. Simply put, breath out then hold your breath for as long as possible a few times. Reverses effects of hyperventilation which you do when anxious

There's no risk of withdrawal with occasional phenibut usage, the same with benzo's. Worst case scenario you feel depressed for a couple days after usage, depending on the dosage. Making a good impression on people will probably ease that potential crash. :)

You can try sunlight exposure beforehand

A walk in the woods can help lower cortisol as well

Beta blockers are probably the most effective pharmaceutical option. (Having said that, I've not yet tried them myself).

Occasional phenibut use isn't going to be an issue. However, if you lack discipline it can be rather difficult to say no the next day and it can easily lead to an everyday thing. Dosage with Phenibut is everything and if you take too much at once or too little - the effects can either be way to overwhelming or under-delivering. Its best taken in 2 small doses multiple hours apart. Where you get it from is also an issue. Many of the leading nootropics dealers sell Phenibut that is highly questionable.

If you have severe performance anxiety your going to need something strong. As much as the fluffy recommendations to take chamomile tea and simply " take a few deep breaths " may sound - it simply does not harbor the strong effect that is needed. '

Although the supplement GABA gets a bad wrap, I know multiple people that say it has worked wonders for their anxiety issues. There are a ton of people that say that because it reportedly does not cross the blood brain barrier that it does not work.

My unpopular opinion is to consider looking into the Racetam family. Things like Aniracetam, Fasoracetam, Phenylpiracetam, Oxiracetam etc - or Even Adrafinil for occasional use. Whenever I have a big event, I take Aniracetam and it really works wonders.

I strongly suspect that anxiety is related to the interplay of histamine, TRH and noradrenaline.
I have found a mother tincture combination of 4 herbs (Motherwort, Passionflower, California poppy and lemon balm) very effective against anxiety.
I used the above formulation with only one caveat: I don’t use it full strength but make myself a 1x homeopathic dilution of it. Then I use 40 drops thrice a day, 10-15 minutes before my meals.
I sometimes add 50 -100 mg of GABA in the morning as well.
All of the above address effectively the histamine, NA and TRH issues.

thanks man, yeah I have high histamine for sure. Do you have by any chance experience in using mushrooms, e.g. reishi or lion's man, for anxiolitic effects?

Amazing, thanks. Any idea where I can get the 4 herbs in one product? Much appreciated!
