I moved to a different state for high altitude benefits and in both states I've seen a crazy amt of chem trails. I've also seen them in various cities within each state, so I think the poisoning is happening throughout the country. I don't know if I'm just more sensitive than average to them, but I feel the effects strongly. I think your best bet is to leave USA in case the whole country turns into Cali due to poisoning.

I have a place in the foothills there. I personally love tucson but plenty of people hate it. 9 mo of the year the weather is fantastic. For 3 months the heat can be quite miserable but at the end of the summer is "monsoon" season in which we get huge thunderstorms with great lightning shows (usually; some years it disappoints).

Tucson proper seems to suffer from bad leadership and the roads are not great. You can definitely pick up a trashy vibe, but also a nice quirkiness. I have friends in Oro Valley who quite like it and also friends south in Vail who like that too. The surrounding small towns are definitely better for families and schools.

There's mountains on 4 sides so I spend most weekends in those. Sabino canyon is a treasure. In summer you can get a break from the heat by going up Mt Lemmon to much higher altitude. If you like outdoor activities (especially hiking) and sunshine it's hard to beat.

Be warned that rent and house prices there have totally skyrocketed in the last 6 months or so. Probably people fleeing California. This also happened before around 2007 so it's the second California wave I've experienced. But tucson always ends up slightly worse after that because californians just try to make their new place like California again which is awful.

It's getting better but tucson doesn't have a great variety of well-paying jobs so some people get to feeling stuck in their job without better options. Most of the population is not so well off and meth is a problem. But if you stay in the suburbs you're unlikely to be affected by this.
Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I really do love the sunshine and hiking.
@Cloudhands, @Inaut, @Regina and @Lollipop2, thanks for making me smile-y’all are awesome too!

@Blossom you are so awesome! It will be interesting to see where you end up. My husband and I recently moved to Bentonville Arkansas for work for him. The mountains and landscape is beautiful around here. Tons of hulking and mountain biking. The only downside so far is being Walmartville but we avoid so don’t really notice. It looks like Sarah Huckabee will win the Gubernatorial race in 2020.

Congratulations on the move and making the best of your new home! I know no place is perfect but I’m hoping better weather will help. Indiana winters are a bit much.

I bet they are! Arkansas seems to be maybe 10 degrees cooler than Dallas. Dallas weather is quite nice; warm most of the year.

I wonder how important is to be at higher elevation for everyone's your move decisions? I.e. how much do you prioritize elevation in your decision? I reckon that with age increase, it would be more and more important than in younger years.

I have a couple of general areas picked based on other considerations, such as warm weather, conservative mœurs and response to convid. But adding elevation in the mix is very hard in terms of not being left with many choices.
Thoughts? Thank you.

I do think altitude is important. South Dakota? Tennessee? These have good political stances. Not sure about weather.

I have heard good things about Tennessee's stance. And the weather is not too cold: I've visited, albeit briefly, in the winter. In the summer in the mountains, I've seen rhododendrons growing :): while I am used to humidity in summer. I will look into Tennessee for the move.

Me too! It is a place I have my eye on. After Catherine Austin Fitts left Washington she researched the best states with stable books, funded pension funds. South Dakota was the best and Tennessee second best. She moved to Tennessee.

Good to know! Thank you. I’ve always loved Tennessee. My mom was born there and then they moved to Louisville when she was a baby. Every time we go there it feels like home.

I think spending time by the sea or in the mountains is great but all things being equal, wherever you have close companionship and family is the best health wise over the long run.

Letter from Green Valley south of Tucson. Maybe not so nice
Subject: From a friend in Green Valley, AZ

Thought I would take a few minutes and recap what is happening in Green Valley right now.
For those of you that have not been here, Green Valley is a community of about 25,000 people located about a half hour south of Tucson and ~35 miles north of the Mexican border.
It is a retirement community. The joke is most people are eating supper at 4 p.m. and in bed by 7 p.m. The crime rate is nil. But we cannot say the same of Tucson.
PIMA county has announced it will "invest" $2 million of OUR county taxpayer dollars to buy hotel rooms for illegals. The Border Patrol is overwhelmed. They are now building large tents on the local military base (Davis-Montham) which will "temporarily hold" 500 illegals under one tent.
Border Patrol is not testing for covid and not vaccinating the illegals they catch; which is opposite of what some bureaucrats are stating on the news channels. Border Patrol estimates they are catching only 7 of 10 illegals crossing.
This past week in Green Valley:
We live about a quarter mile from the open desert on the south and west side of Green Valley. A Border Patrol helicopter was chasing illegals at 3 a.m. with search lights and a ground crew last week about a half mile from our house in the open desert.
Last week Border Patrol tried to corral an estimated 200 illegals walking by PCC through the desert. When Border Patrol arrived, the ~200 illegals fled in different directions.
Golfers reported a few days ago (on the golf course we live on)- that 5 illegals were literally running down the middle of a green fairway attempting to evade Border Patrol who were in pursuit with their pick-up trucks. Border Patrol stopped their trucks and asked the golfers for their golf carts to continue pursuit. When the 5 illegals (young men) saw Border Patrol now chasing them in golf carts they ALL dropped their back packs and continued running.
Another Border Patrol Agent was filming this and grabbed yet another golf cart to secure the 5 back packs. What did he find? The back packs were full of hand guns, extra clips, and ammo. They did catch and arrest all 5 illegals. Came to find out they were "really bad hombres" with criminal records.
Nobody has been hurt and property damage has not happened (yet) here in Green Valley; but not so in Tucson. Local news (including our little Green Valley newspaper) choose not to share these real life stories. Where is the honesty in our press?
Today, Marguerite and I cleaned out our closets and took a few bags of clothes over to a donation station in Green Valley. A group of citizens were on a major street intersection waving American Flag(s), a Trump flag, and holding signs asking “WHERE is Biden and Kamala to address their decision of relaxing our border protections?” Good question.
This is real folks. Since early February things have really changed- we are being overwhelmed with illegals from multiple countries. Unfortunately within these groups are child molesters, child traffickers, criminals, rape trees with panties as trophies being displayed in the desert, dead bodies in the desert, weapons, drugs, covid/other diseases; resulting in our county tax payer money being pissed away, tent cities being built with federal tax payer dollars, local religious organizations are overwhelmed, etc.
Thought you would want to know the truth and the seriousness of this situation-"from a snowbird local".
We are heading back to Wisconsin in a couple of weeks to enjoy late spring/summer/fall...good timing.
Vav

Oh my. How horrible. @Blossom read this. Thanks for sharing @achillea
Thank you for the update @achillea and thanks for tagging me @Lollipop2! I’ll admit I’ve been concerned about moving so close to the border right now. It looks like my husband isn’t going to take the job after all which is probably for the best.
