Say you had a need to stockpile food for more than the FEMA recommended 3 days. Long term food storage typically means MRE's, canned foods, preserved foods (canning jars), fermenting or dehydration.
Since canning and preserving is very time consuming and Dehydrated meals typically contain starches and PUFA, would dehydrated potatoes be the best all-around storage ready food? High protein and starch that could be broken down or ameliorated with fat?
Would white rice and powdered eggs be a viable alternative?

Those would all require cooking, right? which might be problematic. Maybe supplement with canned fruit or meat in case of a fuel or energy shortage.

Spam, vegemite or tuna? With a nice marmelade on the side? I'll need to pack a lot of spices too:D
