Bad Symptoms After Orgasm-Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome

Hello I'm 19 years old-I've been reading this forum for months and found many interesting topics from which I learned more about how certain nutrients, hormones, other factors interact and influence the body.

Many here know a lot about biochemistry etc. so I decided to make a thread about an issue that has been bothering me for years.

In short-whenever I have orgasm whether with porn or without or nightfall I get bad symptoms-brainfog, clumsiness, slower reflexes/thought speed/comprehension, voice change-hoarseness, lower volume, feeling of bump/tightness in muscles used to talk strongly, appetite change-there are other I might've forgotten.

The most interesting thing is that I had ZERO pois when I was ill 2020 February with neck ache, lower throat mucus, compulsive cough I had 1 nightfall, 2 orgasms and still was sharp cognitively and I didn't get the processing speed slowdown which is most noticeable POIS symptom-I was at school and waited for lesson to begin and I realized how fast I process everything and how time slowed down due 0 brainfog. What was different was BLOODFLOW in genitals-during this window when I was ill and had 0POIS I felt as if lower **** was more opened up/higher resolution-I higher resolution sensation and I felt as blood flew differently post-orgasm, cycling also seems to reduce symptoms by 40% but not near the great feeling I had while ill-immune/bloodflow/lympathic related?
On POISCenter-NSAIDs, antihistamines, flush Niacin b4 O stops or greatly improves POIS for many so it's something immune/bloodflow/inflammatory related? Recent idea is it's type of Mast Cell Activation Disorder activated during orgasm.

When I abstain most of it goes away-I discovered it by abstinence in 2019 that I got POIS and I might've been in this state since puberty (don't remember when it started)-abstained ~240 days as it let me live well by not having POIS except when I'd get nightfall restarting it for next days-it's less by nightfall, conscious orgasm gives it worse so when I had lot of nightfall abstinent it made me be in it again but when I had no orgasm any way I was fast, sociable, energetic-felt very good-sometimes on longterm abstinence I had strong bliss-every small thing made me feel good-I was very sensitized to everything in good way-1st I thought it's how all feel but once frequent nightfall put me in constant POIS and as I realized most people don't display brainfog, clumsiness, awkwardness and that it's doubtful most'd abstain is when I realized it's POIS-I knew of it but 1st didn't fully accept idea it's disorder and thought it's natural so was into sr/nofap strong but learning many cured it fully and realizing that most people don't get so bad long symptoms made me accept it being a disorder so I joined /r/POIS and poiscenter which are main communities for ideas, treatments on it-read everything I can, talked with people there and still do however I wanna hear your idea on it.

Thank you for your time I look forward to hearing what your ideas are.

@Explorer The only advice I'd give someone at your age is to research the basic principles that Peat proposes and do it for 6 months. You'll sort out most, if not all, of your issues. Stay off porn as it does nothing good for anyone. Get a girlfriend and/or lady friend who you can Explore intimacy on a mental, spiritual and emotional level.

Eat a nutritious diet. Consider supplementing b vitamins, magnesium and a little zinc. Get good sleep, sunshine exposure and have sex with a partner, not a screen.

Integrate them more and do less of the things that you know aren't good for you (i.e- porn, garbage foods, staring at a screen as a form of connection with others, etc.)

Stay away from the short term tips and stick to the fundamentals. Read Peat's articles. Listen to his interviews. See the things he points to consistently and apply them. At your age, you don't need a "sniper" approach. No specific supplement will solve your issues.

Sexual arousal is a stressor. Sexual Arousal Is A Stressor

Most people feel depressed/shitty after wanking off. If anything it is a sign of health to feel bad afterwards. It is stress hormones falling.

Giving it a diagnosis seems weird or at least out of step with a philosophically grounded understanding of man. That is, reproduction has a natural and social/developmental purpose in your life.

Since today's medicine is reductionist and has no holistic view of man, it makes sense to call it a disease.

These. Orgasm is foremostly a biological function the purpose of which is to create life. Thus it comes as no surprise that the male orgasm requires a lot from the body. Using it for hedonistic pursuits is - frankly put - a perversion that comes with a huge price. There is no such illness as 'POIS', rather, POIS is the natural consequence of losing your essence. The French call it 'the little death' for a reason. Those who orgasm all the time are so accustomed to the effects that they assume it to be their natural state (that being said, there are of course robust individuals who can seemingly get away with liberal expulsion of the ejaculatory fluids, yet this behavior catches up with them too in the end). When following the growth of male children, you can clearly tell when they discover masturbation. The behavior of the male changes: he becomes withdrawn, low energy, angsty, aloof... changes that are traditionally attributed to puberty and related hormonal changes. Yet the disposition of the females hardly changes at all: they tend to maintain their social vigor, energy and optimism. Likewise, those men who never discover masturbation, or at least treat it with respect, seem to maintain their childlike optimism and energy well into adulthood.

This nice thread has started to feel "American" so quickly... (Or to be more specific, like esoteric, superstitious, ideological b.........)
P.S.: I don't know if anyone here would know more about the issue than over there (POIScenter).

I have POIS too! I discovered that it when away when doing extended fasting, this lead me to realise that it was something in my diet causing it. After an extensive elimination diet protocol I discovered that grains, more specifically gluten and gluten-like proteins were triggering it. Not everyone with POIS suffers it because of their diet, but it's a worth a shot.

How old are you how long what symptoms you had have you taken antibiotics or other medicine in the past had a concussion, food poisoning, mold/toxin/heavy metal exposure or any factor that might've caused it?

I'm 22, the symptoms seem to last for a day or two, symtoms are mostly brainfog and headaches. I've taken antibiotics several times in the past, never had a concussion. Had food poisoning once after the POIS symtoms started and I don't know if it was cause by any toxin exposures. I first noticed it was ~15

I doubt it's related to sexual activity frequency itself-some who do it very often may get disbalance and maybe it plays a small part in POIS developing but not root cause. I had none of these symptoms when I was ill with flu/cold for 3 days I had 1 nocturnal emission and 2 orgasms-felt same as before and didn't even think about it because the symptoms didn't appear. As I healed they came back.

Before it appeared I had good food/sleep/lifestyle/low stress never been overweight always lean and haven't had any big hormone issues etc. I doubt it's related to lifestyle itself but rather I feel as it's something in body either nerves/enzymes/immunity/etc. something that for some reason is different than it should be resulting in unusual reaction to a process that for most doesn't give such symptoms atleast not as many and long. I've heard being sick has lowered symptoms for those with fibromyalgia etc. POIS maybe is immune related as it literally disappeared during that 1 time I was sick (don't recall other times when I was sick it being so but I didn't know then I got it so if it did I probably didn't notice).

Now I'll abstain atleast for a while till I find more data on what could be causing it.

It seems like there is some connection between the Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome and Mast Cell Activation Disorder/IBS/SIBO/POTS/EDS

Most medicines that work for POIS are anti inflammatory, anti Histaminergic, mast cell inhibiting medicines

Many POISers have gut issues especially in the state of POIS

I can bend my thumbs backwards by 90 degrees and fully reach both of my hands while putting them behind my back and I overall have this boneish lankeish long limbed physique including thin wrists and kind of petite looking face and I have always had eye bags under my eyes ever since the childhood due to not as much forward bone growth that would support the skin tissue so I guess that is why I have those eyebags

I also often get dizzy when standing and many times it has happened right after orgasming I would get very dizzy feeling like I am fainting and my eyes would slightly blur and fill with floaters and then after few seconds it would be normal again

Now I wonder what could be the explanation for why being sick with a cold temporarily made the POIS disappear and why my sexual pleasure that I felt was increased while being sick whereas all other times when I have had severe POIS symptoms it is like the sexual pleasure feeling feels blunted as well?

Also many POISers have been cured with antibiotics
