Niacin might, niacinamide doesn't.
Why would niacinamide not increase the chances of insulin resistance? From this study both raised triglycerides and the amount taken would be a variable that would need to be tested:

Why should triglycerides lead to IR? Also, the graph clearly shows that HOMA is going down as the dose of NAM increases.

Yes, lowering HOMA is very good but what trigs are being raised? If your saturated fat and carnitine levels are high that should also mean that levels of niacinamide in the cell need to be high enough to avoid an excess of NADH. So a high NAD/NADH ratio may be mandatory to prevent the IR caused by high beta-oxidation of saturated fat in the mitochondria. There are a number of variables that come into play and high protein or meat diet would increase carnitine (needed to shuttle saturated fat into the mitochondria):

Are trigs inherently bad though? Ray has said that they are saturated lipid made in the liver from excess sugar, I think they're just a storage form of energy.
