Literally this is how Australians conceive of personal rights. They have a right to deprive you of your rights and you have the right to put up with it.
It appears to have sat around without a vote since February. Public Health Amendment (Vaccination Compensation) Bill 2021

“I hope, and we’ll play our part in this, like a month before your six months is up, then you will get a message and your vaccination certificate, the thing that gets you the green tick, you’ll be prompted to go and book a time to go and have your booster shot,” Mr Andrews said.

“There may be state clinics in that or it might be all done through GPs and pharmacies, that hasn’t been worked through yet. We’re happy to play our part, though. So it’ll be about the maintenance of your vaccination status.”
Lmao, so even though the vaccines are safe and effective, 6 months after your last injection your good boy freedom allowance just automatically runs out and now you're in the same category as the people who never got it. The vaccine hamster wheel approach.

Yeah I knew they would start the booster campaign.

My father tried to manipulate me to get the vaccine a while ago. I said I won’t get the vaccine and it’s not just one vaccine but will turn into many because the efficacy only lasts a matter of months, he assured me I was wrong on that because the idiot box didn’t say that. I said it’s still not completed long term trials so I am cautious and he said they won’t bring the booster shots, only to old/sick people.

Is there much risk of mandatory vaccinations in the UK?

living in Melbourne is government-induced brain damage I swear to God.

As of right now because I'm not vaccinated I cannot do the following (at least legally): go outside without a mask, attend a café or restaurant, go to the gym, go to a church, get a haircut, go to work or go to university. I think I can socialise with up to 10 people or maybe 5 outdoors with masks and socially-distanced. Basically I can go to get groceries, exercise outdoors, loiter or go to medical appointments. Unemployment is widespread and many people have lost their businesses or defaulted on their mortgages. The government mandated vaccination for basically every occupation so anyone who refused was fired, placed on paid/unpaid leave and given an ultimatum to get vaccinated or be made redundant (they don't really say fired much here.)

I missed the birth of my nephew and am going to miss my brother's wedding in another state because i would have to quarantine for 2 weeks which isn't feasible because of work and I could only go to that other state because I never transferred by driving license over to Victoria so it appears to border entry clerks that I would be coming home. My home state is where my family lives and is allegedly covid-free, but other than mask-mandates will end up operating the same way.

The outdoor mask rule is gone on Friday I should add, but still our premier has recently stated unvaccinated citizens won't enjoy the freedoms offers to the jabbed until 2023. Patience is a virtue I suppose. He also said that a booster shot would be necessary to retain fully vaccinated status, which gave me a brief feeling of schadenfreude as it broke the illusion of being 'protected' or free by virtue of being vaccinated. Our news media is basically a monopoly and even critical perspectives demand more government intervention into the lives of citizens, and selectively criticise certain groups protesting and erroneously connect them to Nazi ideologies. It's truly bizarre. Political corruption is deep, because the Labor party which is in office is supported by the trade unions who actively campaign to curtail the rights of their employees. John Setka. Not to mention that state parliament has been suspended as part of emergency measures although maybe it has resumed.

At the moment my plan is to lie in order to access the services I need. Our lockdown was 277 days and we have more cases than ever, yet we locked down with around 10-20 cases a day. Australians are at a baseline generally unhealthy I would say. Especially elderly people as processed foods are abundant in the Australian diet because two companies have a monopoly on supermarkets. Obesity is rampant, as is alcoholism, mental illness whatever that has come to mean, anti-depressant usage, illicit drug use on top of the generally toxic, immunosuppressive effect of the modern lifestyle and having their freedoms (innate rights...) drip-fed to them by a bunch of fat, illiterate tragics who nevertheless are worshipped by an equally illiterate, unintelligent public. Melbourne in particular has quite noticeable air pollution with dust and pollen, which usually means our flu and asthma seasons are more lethal than elsewhere. These have mysteriously disappeared.

Never had a cough, cold or flu in my life. As far as I know I've never had COVID. Fit as a fiddle and hoping to escape, potentially to South Africa. Many people feel like me, but nonetheless acquiesce to being vaccinated because holding out for the chance to go to our world class coffee shops and pubs is just too good (they are overpriced, overhyped and full of wankers). Most of the iconic main streets have 15-25% vacancies, rental prices and housing prices continue to rise nearly everywhere despite the unemployment and stagnation of real wage growth.

People have yelled at me on the street for not wearing a mask when I had a drink in my hand, refused to open their door when I deliver to them or even speak to me (I deliver food as a job), implied I would be vaccinated if I'd seen a dying person hooked up to a respirator (shock factor doesn't negate dignity or individual autonomy...). People who work in healthcare or are 'essential workers' lauded as heroes and given free roadside car insurance. Not the people who lost their income because of the government? Anyway. I tell people if I got COVID i wouldn't go to hospital and I still wouldn't get vaccinated and they can't even fathom that there is another way to live outside of medicalisation and scientism.

Just thought I'd share and vent my feelings. The chief psychiatrist insisted that the psychological stress of a lockdown was warranted by the pandemic. I can't imagine how many suicides there have been, let along the progression of alcoholism, depressions, other chronic diseases and deficiencies of sunlight and social contact. Australia has a few regions which retain the stereotypical archetypes that we are associated with like being fit and tanned and friendly and spending all weekend at the beach. Our society has become more cosmopolitan, and while many people still identify with the traits associated with - the ANZACs, the miners at the Eureka Stockade, the convicts - they submit to impositions which appropriate the rhetoric of acting dutifully, selflessly and heroically while representing the exact opposite of the principles Australia was founded on. But Australians even feel shame about being Australian or being proud of it due to academic propaganda of sovereignty, Perhaps only New Zealand is more progressed into fully passive nanny-statism than us! Look up nanny state laws in Australia, the list grows ever longer. Plain-packaged cigarettes, mandatory bike helmets, lockout laws, bans on drinking in public, drink and drug driving laws, cybersecurity laws. and raw milk is illegal! lol

Before Australia could even build a national identity it was thwarted and deconstructed by the influence of globalisation, Americanisation and weak leadership. There is a huge spirit of anti-intellectualism and cultural inferiority here as our leaders look to other nations for what to do, instead of take advantage of our geographical isolation and relative newness as a nation to try out new ideas. Well i suppose they do try out new ideas, which are softer rehashings of authoritarian regimes elsewhere. Our economy is strongly reliant on exports of iron ore which will inevitably crash. Our agricultural industry is similar. Many people work in services or for the government, and I think that by contract these people cannot openly criticise the department they work for. Educational standards are slipping, despite decades of public health propaganda preventable diseases are as rampant as ever and i think we have one of the highest rates of intellectual disabilities in the Western world, anecdotally autism and ADHD are aggressively over-diagnosed in children and teenagers and mental health awareness and subsidised counselling has made everyone hyperaware of mental health conditions and unsure of themselves.

Anyway. There are a lot of good things about living here it is true. The natural landscape is beautiful and people in rural areas, WA, Tasmania, Queensland and Northern Territory are generally more relaxed, less pretentious and more freedom-loving from my observations. The culture of the great outdoors still exists, and participation in sports too. A personal hatred of mine is lycra-clad cyclists. I can just sense the sperm cells dying and the testosterone depleting looking at them, which explains their ***t attitude and sense of entitlement on the road. Supposedly Melbourne is one of the world's most liveable cities - if you could ever make your way to the hermit kingdom that is. If any Australians want to talk hmu! I've been doing RP diet for 3 years with much success and know of a raw goat milk supplier in Melbourne. I also recommend the publication The Quadrant for analysis of current-affairs and cultural trends here for Australians and foreigners - it covers more complex issues I didn't want to address here for risk of over-simplifying e.g. multiculturalism, indigenous sovereignty, the educational curriculum, the relationship between China and Australia.

Everytime someone tells me to stay safe it feels like a bullet to my soul. But at least I have a soul to be wounded!

@changeling188

that paints the picture well- have wondered about some of these very things for you all.

question(s):
Have you participated in any demonstrations? There have been a few, correct?
We see very little coverage of these - but im aware they are happening.
What is the turnout like?
Do you see demonstrating as helpful?
What has been the biggest encouragement for you overall?

Lastly-
Thx for not getting jabbed, mate.
