Aspirin was the most potent life-extension agent when data for all model organisms was combined, more so than rapamycin or metformin

Research on aging and lifespan-extending compounds has been carried out using diverse model organisms, including yeast, worms, flies and mice. Many studies reported the identification of novel lifespan‐extending compounds in different species, some of which may have the potential to translate to the clinic. However, studies collectively and comparatively analyzing all the data available in these studies are highly limited. Here, by using data from the DrugAge database, we first identified top compounds in terms of their effects on percent change in average lifespan of diverse organisms, collectively (n = 1728). We found that, when data from all organisms studied were combined for each compound, aspirin resulted in the highest percent increase in average lifespan (52.01%), followed by minocycline (27.30%), N-acetyl cysteine (17.93%), nordihydroguaiaretic acid (17.65%) and rapamycin (15.66%), in average. We showed that minocycline led to the highest percent increase in average lifespan among other compounds, in both Drosophila melanogaster (28.09%) and Caenorhabditis elegans (26.67%), followed by curcumin (11.29%) and gluconic acid (5.51%) for D. melanogaster and by metformin (26.56%), resveratrol (15.82%) and quercetin (9.58%) for C. elegans. Moreover, we found that top 5 species whose lifespan can be extended the most by compounds with lifespan-extending properties are Philodina acuticornis, Acheta domesticus, Aeolosoma viride, Mytilina brevispina and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (211.80%, 76%, 70.26%, 55.18% and 45.71% in average, respectively). This study provides novel insights on lifespan extension in model organisms, and highlights the importance of databases with high quality content curated by researchers from multiple resources, in aging research.

Thanks for posting!
I made a small summary on some peaty substances extracted from the cited articles of this review. Unfortunately the full study isn't available.

The insurance industry has a dog in this fight. My position is that if it costing pension systems $, then it has got to be healthy of induvials. It is good to learn that aspirin, which is currently cheap and readily available, is at the top of the list.

.... but muh Reyes syndrome

"In the 1980s, there was a big publicity campaign warning parents that giving aspirin to a child with the flu could cause the potentially deadly Reye syndrome. Aspirin sales declined sharply, as sales of acetaminophen (Tylenol, etc.) increased tremendously. But in Australia, a study of Reye syndrome cases found that six times as many of them had been using acetaminophen as had used aspirin. (Orlowski, et al., 1987)"

This is a really weird story, but true. This guy I know was taking auyuasca every day for days and was really out there. He was acting really manic too. He also had been taking 6 aspirin per day and was convinced it would extend his life span . He was going around telling people that you can practically life forever by taking 6 aspirin per. day because it removes inflammation in the body. This was over 10 years ago. I thought he was crazy, but now I'm reading about it here!

According to studies, does anyone know if 6 regular aspirin per day is a reasonable dose? I thought he was just going to hurt his stomach, but now I wonder if he had some real knowledge from "beyond"?

Aspirin gives me respiratory congestion like asthma.

Do you take tablets? You may have an allergy to something in that. The best way is to dissolve aspirin powder in hot water and a little baking soda.

And some people are generally sensitive to salicylates. Aspirin being one.

Aspirin is so simple and important, it's silly. Widespread use could slash 50% of healthcare costs.

That's funny and a right way to view it. Of course, with Pharma's new multi billion dollar alternative to aspirin, we are hearing all about how dangerous aspirin truly is.

Hold off on the visions of aspirin panacea. It seems unlikely that everyone would benefit from ASA and none would suffer adversely. Knowing who is the essential missing information. As should have been better studied also with clotshots.

Especially if the basic cofactors were dosed with it (vitamin c, glycine, vitamin K) all the arguments against aspirins safety are easily remedied cheaply.

Absolutely, if you use the clean powder and dissolve it, take it with food and the co-factors, it literally slashes mortality from literally all causes.
