Hi,
This is my first post .
Taking aspirin 325 mg daily, for about 6 months now.
Potassium levels went up from 4.2 to 5.1.
Seems like my kidneys are not able to get rid of it.
I don’t want to quit aspirin because of family cancer history but also not wanting to develop kidney disease.
Thanks .

Aspirin lowers Na/K ratio, try taking sodium bicarbonate to keep it balanced.

Fixed to lowers.

It's also a good idea to check the ratio, as increased potassium may already be internally compensated by higher sodium over time through a mechanism I'm unaware of, like increased MR sensitivity.

Is 1744 mg sodium bicarbonate enough? I only took only one alka seltzer will something happen if I take one more after 4 hours

Hi,
I’m not taking aspirin anymore because I have developed a bad heartburn after a year of taking it.
I changed to Curcumin medium dose
Which actually strengthens the wall structure of stomach. I take it in nano form for better absorption.
Lot safer for long term in my opinion.
Thank you for responding.
David.

Btw did you take aspirin with sodium bicarbonate? If so how much?
