Just when you think you’ve evaded all the toxins new thing crops up. There’s no end to this is there. Something else to consider also: even if you’ve eradicated all the mould in your apartment if your upstairs/downstairs neighbours haven’t taken care of theirs you’re still in danger

the popcorn ceiling in of itself is not a problem so your not at a risk 24/7. it's only if you chip away at it or if it breaks when the asbestos dust gets released. it's common for kids to pick it at it for fun which causes a problem.

Depends, could be some natural erosion. I worry about how some chrysotile has been contaminated with amphibole to some degree. On autopsy its always the amphibole that is in the lung tissue, and even when miners were only in chrysotile mines, because they are very similar physically. Thus one could assume that a popcorn ceiling has some amphiboles, and the half life in tissue of an amphibole is years to decades long. A prudent measure would be to take NAC and vitamin C+E, to try to reduce lung inflammation.

Imagine you try to remove your mould infested popcorn ceilings and release a cloud of toxic chrysotile, which was itself contaminated with an even more toxic amphibole. :banghead:
