Are there any health risks to alum blocks?

id like to use an alum block after shaving. its been used since ancient times from what ive read, which sounds good. however, the thought of having aluminum rubbed on my tissue sounds off-putting. or is this a safe form of aluminum? any metal experts care to chime in?

i mean this is what im worried about too but its nothing more than a quote from the first page of google. is it the same kind of normal aluminum you'd find in a grill or other aluminium object?

I read on many another sitse this morning that ALL forms of alum have risks. I am glad to know that too, cause we have gotten deodorant out of our life, but I had no idea aftershave has it too.
