Are Solid, Regular Errections Actually A Good Marker Of Health?

Thats also my opinion. After some months of low estrogen (not borderline low) I am finally in balance sexually wise. No intrusive sexual thoughts, no 'I have to orgasm at least one more time or I am not satisfied feeling', no need for masturbation or porn and of course not horny like a teenager because of every semi attractive woman I see.

If there is something like a healthy libido then it is controlled by DHT and DHT itself lowers estrogen significantly. It's a 'feeling in control libido' which feels like you can chose whenever you want to have intercourse or simply drop the thought of it within a glimpse. I raised DHT simply by taking it or optimising it via regular supplements (5AR1/2 up-regulation, etc.) which can be tricky because of occasional lack of sleep it can be lower temporally.

Would you kindly be able to elaborate on the supplements you took to up-regulate 5AR?

Zinc picolinate (It should be below 50 mg of elemental zinc, everything more than that does the opposite and suppresses 5AR), ashwagandha (before sleep not during daytime, it lowers cortisone significantly so you may feel like a zombie in that state), glycine (5-10 gram) before sleep, limiting opioids (limit caseine from cows milk, don't over sex yourself this includes masturbation) and of course deep and sound sleep.

Well, I apply DHEA/Pregnenolone to my testicles and also supplement Butea Superba (both are supposed to increase DHT), it is the only stuff that has been reliable at increasing libido for me (i've tried almost everything manipulating, estrogen, dopamine, acetylcholine, you name it).

But the libido increase is not like you describe, it is similar to a horny teenager again. Spontaneous erections, morning wood that can slay dragons, lots of sexual thoughts and fantasies. It for sure increases the enjoyment of masturbation and stuff like porn, but if you have self-control then no need. If I was not getting regular sex though it would have issues controlling the urge.

There are many famous writings on channeling sexual 'power' as you might call it, into work to increase productivity. I think it is a mental aspect rather than hormonally controlled.

I did the same and I can tell you thats because of a STRONG estrogen increase. This approach should be used only sporadically.

i would agree with steene. the dhea is likely increasing your estrogen and therefore raising this horny teenager libido you describe. Not necessarily a terrible thing, you need some libido but you need to keep estrogen as low as possible also

If “horny teenager libido” is indicative of high estrogen, does this mean teens have high estrogen too? Surely this is not the case generally due to the metabolic health of young men. We can all recall the incessant libido of youth, yet it seems any return of it as an adult is “estrogenic”.

I see it as the goal, surely the majority of people are most healthy as kids and teenagers when their metabolisms and hormones are at their peak. This is also what Ray says since he see the higher heart rates when you're young as indicators that this is the ideal. My estrogen issues did not start until I got older.

I don't agree at all. I struggled with estrogen issues for over 5 years.

I had them super high, high, low, super low, I've experienced all of it. (confirmed with labs every time)

I've been on pharmaceutical AIs, HCG injections. I've driven estrogen and prolactin too high, I've crushed them using Arimidex.

I know the feeling of high estrogen vs normal estrogen. I have low COMT function, estrogen is my main issue always.

When my estrogen is too high, my morning wood always suffers as well as premature ejaculation and increased sensitivity not only during sex but also emotionally. When super high = erectile dysfunction.

When too low, joint pain, rock hard erections but no libido and impossible to orgasm. No energy.

If anything, I don't have anything close to the above with my current regimen that includes a small dose of DHEA/Preg.

The research posted here seems to confirm: Raising Serum Androgens Using DHEA, Pregnenolone, And Vitamin K

Further, I plan on changing up the regiment soon and try DHEA/Prog combo instead same as Ray uses to see if it makes a difference.

Is there a study discussing this?

thanks for sharing, your experience seems similar to the „sweet spot theory“ of estrogen on various bodybuilding related boards

I believe increased libido with random boner are healthy but if its just a high libido without erection, thats not a good sign.

I am so confused by this thread. Do we want to reduce estrogen or keep it at a certain level? I am trying to treat peyroines disease which is a fibrotic tissue disorder of the penis.

I thought increasing t levels would be the best thing for peyroines and decreasing estrogen. But now I'm reading that estrogen makes people have libido?

testoserone can convert to estrogen, surely better to raise dht at the same time (or supplement?). dht will also help stop testosterone from converting into estrogen

Maybe, just maybe, we are never meant to have low Estrogen levels. Neither high obviously.

Any idea where I can get a full hormone profile done so I can see what all my values are at?

The doctors only test the following.

What interventions have been the most effective for you to handle high estrogen levels?

So let me get this straight estrogen increases a man's libido? I thought testosterone did this.

It certainly does, but in a "manic", compulsive way. A masculine man enjoys sex more fully, and has no sense of urgency about it.
