Let's make clear I'm not bashing or mocking new generations
but it's absolutely UNDENIABLE that most (not all) millenials are much weaker than their parents or grandpas/mas were

Is that because of lower average Testosterone and Thyroid levels?

Generational decline in testosterone levels observed
Trend does not seem to be attributable to health and lifestyle changes.

Testosterone Levels in Men Decline Over Past Two Decades,

A population-level decline in serum testosterone levels in American men.
Testosterone levels have fallen in American men over the past 2 decades

If you find some similar studies for lower thyroid or lower average metabolism over decades please post them.

It ain't just a spoiled mind or a sheltered body
something is weakening them inside out
just watch hardened criminals or hard thinkers in prison: they get no room to move, let alone exercise, nothing to read or to entertain their mind yet they get out as mentally and physically strong despite being there for YEARS.

I think a likely explanation would be a convergence of factors, bad food, bad medicines, sedentary lifestyles, stressful social environments, nihilistic popculture, lack of sun exposure, parents who also ate the bad food, and who also got the bad medicines,
general sadomasochistic stance towards/lack of contact with one's own history (at least in Western World), weaker social ties, all reinforcing each other to weaken the subset of people who are exposed to this culture. I think this lays the way for an awakening to the damage being inflicted by current institutions on all fronts, which might see people start moving away from and/or changing the hurtful institutions, towards the possibilities of a more wholesome human existence. /exit_pboy_spirit

Edit; Or it could just be the fluoride.

All of this and don't forget the increase in radiation from wifi, cellphones.

High amounts of estrogen buildup from pufa and xenoestrogen. It downregulates testosterone and metabolism.

according to studies OP cited and also there is one haidut posted , showing grip strength is lower in new generations.

The issue with grip strength could have to do with the easier acces to pornography and the constant fapping that ensues. The collagen in the worst is probably wore down by the time they reach 20.

The older generation had to go to great lengths to get a pornahraphic magazine, energy expenditure versus the payoff.

It shouldn't be millenials it should be the generation of fap, fapsters.

Hey now Drareg, that sounds like a reapplied rate-of-living theory of masturbation ;)
Shouldn't the grip get stronger and stronger?

I would say grandparents here, it seems the millennials parents are not living as long, so much for the increasing longevity, time will tell more.

I believe the kids born from 2000 on will be the generation that helps fix many of the issues we have in the world, the kids in the 90's seem completely lost. Bad time to be born, a global recession hits at the crucial teenager years after years of abundance.
Kids born in 2000 were still young and plastic enough to to adapt.

I will go out on a limb here and say I believe those kids are smarter and will be stronger as health advice and supplements similar to Peats ideas come to the fore.
The kids born in 2000 seem sharper all round from what I'm experiencing.

I don't agree with your prison example, this isn't the case, most of them that leave are a mess, prison makes you more feral,to be human you need creative intelligence which prison ruins unless you count weapon making which does have merit here.

Only with rest,it's non stop with smart phone access also, I wouldn't be surprised if their children are born with some epigentics style adaption to the wrist to facilate fap culture and faster smart phone typing for several social media accounts. #fapsters#faptastic#faplife

@Drareg , NoFap brah ? Physical strength aside, mentally i find previous gen to be much tougher than the current one ( or may be the current gen is simply exposed to too much lifestyle and job related stress, easy pr0n access is another one)

Considering that what is rewarded ($) gets reinforced, I think they're focusing on what pays now (digital/info age skills) rather than the bleaker and bleaker future. Form follows function, rise of NerdBods.

Social justice movement and culture of whining
Yeah, pretty much this.
Most inmates seem to get huge in prison despite horrible diet and very limited weightlifting equipment and knowledge.
Makes sense to me that the current anti-masculine western culture produces a hormone shift in men in the opposite direction.

It depends your interpretation of the word tougher I think, the previous gen are more authoritarian and rigid, for example, stubborn can appear tough but it's a weakness.

I think the kids are more creative and resilient when we consider the PUFA and grain ridden diets they are unknowingly following, sort this out and they could really push forward.
The pressure these kids are under like you mention is immense, constant scrutiny and judgement in crucial years, pop cultures influence is scary for any decent parent.

Keep in mind the millennial heights are increasing more so than the previous generation I believe, longevity is hanging in the balance but if we cut the just the high PUFA or HUFA we could see a serious leap forward.

The previous gen are the baby boomers who are the entitled welfare state worshippers imo, working in General Motors and similar operations in the 50's and 60's for big salaries at 39 hours a week isn't too difficult, big fat retirement package at 65.
This generation also instigated the current global casino, over paid baby boomers in handy positions, who cares if you fail as a CEO or whatever fancy worded title you create if you have earned 20 million in 5 years, this is a modest salary for said positions.

They created/instigated the new game, a game of tilted tables for the generations to come, they don't want this system changed while still alive so they claim the millennialist are soft for not running up an impossible hill and "succeeding", the baby boomers claim they ran up said hills when they did not, they walked up a slight incline and then tilted the table to a 90 degree angle.
If a millennial wants to succeed the best way to the top if to line the hill with dead bodies and walk on them, now hurry up and do it you weak foolish millennial!!:twisted::twisted:

The rise of narcissism appears to be just that a rise,it really isn't, we just have more media outlets and news sources highlighting this behaviour,it's always been present in human nature.
There is possibly less narcissism than the past,go back to the roaring 20's and give them the media outlets we have now and watch their behaviour, would possibly be worse than now?

There are loads of examples like this, time will tell though.

I'm pretty sure the height increase stopped in most western nations. It still goes on in developing nations, and possibly in South Korea.

The main problem with our generation is the internet. People use it too much, it's bad for you in so many different ways (eye strain, porn, information overstimulation, skewed sense of reality, lack of exposure to different ideas, instant gratification, among others), and we haven't yet really woken up to the fact that it's bad for you.

A problem can't be fixed if we don't even admit that it's a problem.

The internet is like a knife,a great tool but dangerous in the wrong hands, seems to be the case with many humans creations. Many People in the rich west are ignorant to the fact some kid is in an Internet cafe in the third world looking at pop culture styled social media accounts wearing clothes from the sweatshop he works in living it up while their countries army is down the street raping the local communities in the name of freedom(natural resources).
Don't forget the lack of depth in all generations today, they are essentially majority populist, pop culture intellectuals, spornosexuals, pop culture science guys, this list goes on and on.
It's a world wide pop culture infecting humans with dangerous memes.
The guy in the Internet cafe working in the sweatshop is fantasising about moving to the west and being popular, when he gets their the reality is completely different and his expectations are not met, joins a terror organisation against the west, doesn't even get to west in some cases and same scenario can pan out,oh the complexity of it all,our thought processes are all connected and its fermenting ready to boil! Doomed, doomed we are!!:wtf::wtf::wtf:

I agree we will never admit we have a problem because we keep forgetting we have a problem, there is too much to do/distract to remember anything.

The height increase stats do go back to the past quite a bit,it's entirely plausible heights could be decreasing for millennials I'm sure. It will take time to see this.

I have a crushing grip, particularly after regularly drinking coffee (the caffeine). It's a good day.
