Apple Cider Vinegar

Whenever I am looking for an alternative solution to a health problem I run into apple cider vinegar. I own some, it's sitting on my nightstand, and people seem to claim all over the internet that it's solving the most intractable things, like alzheimers and ibs and migraines.

Does anyone know why this is and what the real benefits are to this stuff? I just have a hard time believing that any kind of vinegar is that magical, even if it does have a "mother".

I always wondered if glycine (amino acetic acid) and acetic acid (from apple cider vinegar) may have similar positive effects.

They look similar:

They may bind to similar receptors ? I have this question already for over 3 years I see. Anyone with more biochemical knowledge that can give some judgment to this thought ?

The top is acetic acid.
The bottom is acetic acid, with an extra amino group, also known as amino acetic acid, aka glycine.
